For the record , I only use an android phone , which does not give me the right to use a phone for messaging endangering everyone else. For phone interactions the PCM interface is perfectly adequate. I'm sure the hoards of self entitled morons out in the real world can come up with a litany of excuses why they are special and need to update their facebook status instead of taking proper control of a hugely dangerous mass of kinetic energy .
Ok...off my high horse, and I will concede a nice convenient spot to park the phone when in a car is a good feature when used properly. Honestly I suspect that Porsche being both germans and brilliant engineers collectively did not "forget" to put a phone mount , rather deliberately engineer the option to ...PUT the damn distraction out of sight , which is the current 1st world thinking phone+driving+design .

My 2 cents:

Those of us with a manual transmission have a problem with a cup holder mount.
I also forget it if I put the phone in the center console.
Don't like a phone in my pockets while driving.
I put my iphone in the forward door pocket so I see it (hopefully) when exiting the car.

Wow, as I stated, I am not using the phone while driving. I just want a convenient spot to keep it where I will see it on exiting the car. The door pockets and center console do not fit my need because I forget the phone is there. Sitting on the phone for a longer (4 hour or more) drive is not the best option. Wireless CarPlay makes the dash mount unnecessary since I do not need to see it for maps either. It's not a major problem but I was looking for a simple solution for storage. I currently have the cupholder out and use the cubby but the phone does tend to bang around in there. I guess, after this post, that no easy solution exists at this time.

Default Belkin telephone/phone mount?

Does anyone have experience with this holder in a 992?

The mount looks cool, does it require a separate holder for the phone? If so, what do you use with the mount? thxs Lou

The Belkin MagSafe holder is not yet available for delivery. You can order through Apple for a December delivery (maybe). I have ordered one and am waiting now. I’m a little concerned because of the vent positions in the 992.

Here’s another that looks good but also not available:

I guess the brilliant German engineers saw no need for sunglasses either since they neglected a place to store them also.

On your face, or tucked into your Hawaiian “Magnum PI” shirt. ;-)

its easy , as you don't want to put the phone where the brilliant designers nominally intended...put your porsche-design-eye-wear in that place.

I did mean that facetiously but, in fact, most cars today do a much better job on storage. Be it wireless charging pads for phones or dedicated sunglass holders, they are simply designs to put things near at hand or safely stored.

LOL, a particularly useful solution at night or in the winter here in Virginia.

I went with ProClipUSA. It doesn't take the cup holder space or block the screen with a mount to the air vents. Instead, it clips, easily to the right side of the shifter console. For me, it is the best location for your phone while driving
