Default Who’s got a car at Emden?

According to TYD, my 992 arrived at Emden yesterday (9/14) — this was early by 4-5 days from prior estimates in TYD. TYD still estimates on vessel 10/2 (and then at Davisville, RI on 10/16 and dealer at 10/23).

Latest available export schedule from late August is attached. Shows Viking Queen being load ready at Emden on 9/14 or 9/15. Marine Traffic reports that Viking Queen just arrived at Emden this am and it’s still sitting at port — so likely a bit behind the dates in the export schedule.

Next Davisville sailing is reported to be Mediterranean Highway. Export schedule shows expected load ready at Emden on 9/18 or 9/19, but Marine Traffic reports Med Highway is not due into Emden until the morning of 9/20.

Hoping my car makes one of those ships and, if so, looks like it could be a couple of weeks early.

Anybody else situated similarly? Anyone have a sense of likelihood of being on one of those boats if already at Emden? I’m assuming TYD isn’t really updated — so hoping shipping time will outperform the TYD estimate.

Thanks in advance for any responses.

Good Luck, many have experienced the same as your journey begins. We had all figured out the ship we were going to be on...Never happened. We ended up on a ship which was never mentioned until it boarded which popped up on TDY. Hopefully when it arrives they will have the EPA certification done...Right now all the 2021's stateside are being held at U.S. Ports, some all the way back to 08/19. Ours has been sitting since 09/05 in San Diego.

I'm pretty much on the same schedule as you - arrived at Emden on 9/10 with an estimated arrival of 10/23. But I have no sense of timing and am doing my best to not think about it

I have the same as you. Car is in Emden - on ship 10/2, Davisville 10/16, dealer 10/23. Hope these are conservative estimates. Every week saved is a blessing here in NJ before the weather turns. Gentian blue S with slate/chalk leather.

You are doing this right by trying not to think about it. That’s the right attitude — since this is all out of our control. I have to learn to be better on that score.

TYD updated this am to show On Vessel as Viking Queen (still has estimated date of On Vessel completion as 10/2, but that must not have been updated yet). So, fingers crossed, but looks like a decent chance that car will beat current TYD estimate of at dealer on 10/23 by a couple of weeks.

Others with cars already at Emden and expecting delivery through Davisville, Jacksonville or Houston may want to check TYD to see if they are also listed as on Viking Queen.

Nope, not here. TYD says car is in Emden. Still shows up on "discover current phase" as scheduled for production. Nothing is synced.

Confusing - On TYD the chart shows that the car is in Emden with that marker point lit up in red. For the heck of it, I went to the next marker (white, not red marker) and it says that the car is on vessel on Viking Queen with10/2 estimated time (and yet Viking Queen supposedly loaded on 9/14-15). Think it's time to stop wasting time!

looks like your hard work (research on VW ship) paid off. Mine still sits in the Emden. I’m replying you to absorb some luck from you ; )

I feel for all of you with cars sitting in port waiting for certification. I know something similar happened with the Panamera and Porsche sent out checks to customers who waited - but I think it was after months of waiting.

I had an update on TYD and it looks like my car will be on the Viking Queen as of 9/18. Delivery at the dealership is now estimated on 10/2. That would be 3 weeks earlier, wow. We'll see.

TYD shows same for me this am. Would be nice for that schedule to happen as would be about 3 weeks earlier than prior estimates.

My entry in to Emden is 9/18 exit Emden is 10/9 Entry to port Benicia scheduled 11/6. The vehicle fix was originally 7/31 moved back to 7/29. Vehicle completion also moved back from 9/18 to 9/11. Port Arrival and departure to Emden stayed the same but arrival to Port Benicia fell back from 11/13 to 11/6. Looks like we're a week ahead of schedule.

Looks like Viking Queen has just left Emden on it way to Davisville on 9/28, and my Gentian Blue S is on-board (if I believe TYD). Getting excited! Would be even more excited if I wasn't having colon surgery on 9/28.
