Default Closeup pics of ED wheels

My build is frozen as of yesterday and I made a last second change to paint the ED wheels satin black. Would appreciate any ED wheels closeup pics if anyone has any (painted satin black or otherwise).

The decision to paint them black was a last second one because i read on another thread that they are not one tone silver but they are 2-tone painted silver and another unpainted silver finish on the outside and I didn’t want a GT silver like tone on the inside on a chalk/crayon car.

I agonized over gloss black vs satin black but in the end decided the satin black was gonna match the unpainted matte black lower front/side/black black parts better. If I went gloss black i would have to spend more money getting gloss window trips/Porsche/model logo and tips to get a proper gloss look (which I’m not sure i even liked—looks too aftermarket to me Even though its clearly not).

I just made the exact same decision to go with satin instead of gloss on turbo exclusive wheels and jet black TT. Satin is more forgiving with brake dust/dirt and adds some depth as well. Works well with gloss black calipers IMHO.

Looks cool! I have the same wheel/color combination and have been considering powder coating the wheels solid black. Something about Aventurine and black just works!

I like black wheels BUT please don't do it - it will lose that Fuch connection

If you left the outer lip polished and rest black, could look sharp and still retro....Photoshop would be your friend or some black painter's tape just to see it in the flesh before committing.

that’s exactly what’s been holding me back...there are so many nice retro design cues, the wheels just make sense.

Quick and dirty photoshop job aside....It’s not bad, but I don’t think it retains the Fuchyness.

So glad I made the decision! i don't like full retro but i do like modernized retro cues and something about this wheel was so oldchool 911 yet modern at the same time with the black that I had to do it....

My only issue with the ED Wheels is that when attempting to recreate the Fuches style wheels of the early 911's; but trying to do so on 19", 20" & 21" rims; IMHO they start looking more like the old style Crager SS Mag Wheels than the original Fuches they're supposedly trying to emulate.

I am considering polishing the flat surface of the five spokes and outer lip of the rim on my aventurine green car. I think it may enhance the look and be a bit less sedate.

Agree with OP that going Satin Black better matches the black trim pieces on the car. Exact same reason I made that choice on my GT Silver build.
