Burning Brakes
As far as I am concerned, you have the ultimate GT steering wheel. I just google it and it is a work of art ! In a different reality, it would have been an option on my car as well. But I decided I better save some money for food.

However, your pics make the wheel in Race-Tex look more grey than black. My other option is the black w/ chalk stitching and then chalk seat centers. Unfortunately that isn't quite the same light interior feel.

Having had alcantara steering wheels in two different M cars, how alcantara/Race-Tex fares depends on how well the owner takes care of it. My most recent M4 had an alcantara steering wheel, e-brake, shift **** and armrest. After over 4 years of use prior to selling the car, those items looked brand new. I do use driving gloves, but I have used driving gloves with leather wheels as well to avoid that shiny deterioration that occurs when hand oils start damaging leather, making it smooth.......and cheap looking like vinyl. Like someone else in this thread stated, both require care.

Three Wheelin'
I miss my F80 so much. That was by far my favorite overall daily driver car ever. But yes, Porsche alcantera can take a beating. The BMW stuff is much thinner on the fluffy part.

i have the alcantara wheel in my 991.2 gts. it looks/feels fine. i prefer leather, and it's not even close. i hate having to worry whether my hands are too greasy/sweaty to touch the wheel without harming the alcantara. i love the feel of a smooth leather wheel. never again.

I keep a super soft tooth brush in my door pocket and would lightly brush mine at red lights. I cant tell you how many people caught me and would look at me like "WTF is he doing". lol.
Youd be shocked at how much dust would fling off it though.
