Do you have a front license plate?

All are now coming from Germany pre-drilled with pilot holes.

When I lived in Virginia, they were a bit nuts about front plates and taxes. A motion to remove them was defeated, and the police look for them. On that car, I did a Skene bracket mount. The bracket is mounted under the bumper so holes cannot be seen if removed. I placed the bracket so that the front plates was low and it didn’t look bad. When I moved to Delaware, I removed the bracket and not a mark. I had put felt pads on any point that could possibly come in contact with the paint.
I am not sure if it is possible with the 992 as I have had no need.

Just to be clear, most state regulations clearly state that the front plate has to be mounted on the vehicle. You might get a pass on having it on the dash but it is still an offense that can be ticketed..

Yeah. Just picked up my GT4 and was told everything is coming in like that now. Even tough only YOU will notice, they are small and don't pierce the bumper. Its annoying all the same. Got some words for the Pencil Head at PAG who spec'd this.

I am waiting for the Sto n Sho bracket. I had it for 2 previous cars and it worked well. Currently they don't have one for the 992 yet. They have one for other 2020 models but not the 992. I'll post when it becomes available.

california here. despite the state requirement, i have never put a front plate on any car (992 included) for 25+ years. i've been pulled over a few times for other things over the years (speeding, rolling through stop sign, etc.) and never once did the police say a thing about it. i did receive one ticket for the infraction while parked on a busy street routinely patrolled by parking enforcement, but was able to "fix it" no problem. as others have said, most officers (at least around here) let it slide on sports cars and other cars where mounting front plate would be undesirable. i do have to remember to not back into parking spots at airports and other monitored lots (at least i used to when i did that sort of thing). As an aside, the fix it ticket i did receive was on a jeep with steel bumpers and a winch.

I was always one to color outside of the lines but never skipped on the front license plate .... UNTIL I finally did in Ohio when I got my 2001 Audi S4. Then when I got the 2003 C4S (and later the 2004 TT) I decided to stay with that approach by ALWAYS telling the dealer ahead of time NOT to drill any front license plates holes which they always compiled. I never got a ticket or a warning although I thought for sure I would one time when a police officer had to inspect the front of my car for possible damage. He never said a word but YMMV.
Fortunately now I live in Tennessee which doesn't require one. Good luck with your decision.

No...Porsche is not going to do it...Many states are not required to have front plates, plus others are passing new statutes which do not require them. They have no purpose other than for readers on toll roads or parking enforcement...California still requires it, but rarely enforced. Dealers make you sign a disclaimer about the front plate leaving the lot without a front plate. Many U.S. manufacturers are charging extra for a front holder. I can see someone making an issue if a state still requires a front plate and the dealer is not supplying a proper way to affix the plate.
