Default Adaptive Cruise Control?

Am finalizing my order; Anyone have experience with the adaptive cruise control? I have it on several other cars, but heard feedback that it is very sensitive and that the passive safety is kicking in too fast?
Let me know thoughts, and if I should add it to my order.

thanks!

I too would be interested to hear what other people’s experiences have been?

Like you, I am still in the build phase, so have no real world experience. That said, and even if not perfect, all the time, it still will provide a level of safety, some of the time.

I've had my 992 for two weeks and have twice driven on the highway for 1 hour or more using ACC. I drive with the following distance set to minimum and noticed nothing really different from the ACC I had on my previous Audi, Mercedes, and Land Rover vehicles.

I love ACC and would never leave it off of any of my cars. ACC is also great in bumper-to-bumper traffic, in the city or highway, because you can just set it and worry about other things while the car plods along very slowly.

Agree 100%--works as well as expected on my C2S. Would never buy another car without it.

It works very well on mine. I had it on a Range Rover SVR, which was shockingly good as well, but it was very slow to respond to cars exiting your lane (i.e. getting back up to speed) and was not great for coming to a stop (was very jerky). The 992 seems very smooth and responsive, and I've used it once to come to a complete stop and it was as good as any human.

I've got more than 8k miles on my 992 C4S and I love ACC. I've never bothered with the cruise control in my other cars, but Porsche's implementation is so good that it sees frequent action. For me, I use it when I am stuck in stop-n-go traffic. It just makes the experience that more relaxing. I steer and the ACC takes care of the rest.

Added bonus? You can use it to measure the speed of the car in front of you. That's a tremendous novelty on the open road. For example, yes, that Civic in front of you is really going 115MPH. It's radar! With that, there is a downside -- I've had cars slow down with radar detectors thinking that there was a cop nearby. LOL

I am sure that there are purists that will shovel some nonsense that you shouldn't have cruise control in a 911. Sure, whatever. If you're driving cars & coffee and only putting a couple of thousand miles per year, knock yourself out with your purity. ACC is a great feature if you actually plan on taking your car anywhere. Have fun!

No issues with Cruise Control - In fact standard CC is standard equipment; No issues with ACC either - I have it in 3 other cars; Was indeed interested in the Porsche implementation! I have added it to my build.

Just confirming that ACC will take you down to a complete stop and then accelerate again when the car in front of you moves? My wife’s van’s ACC stops working below something like 25 mph and it’s annoying because so much of the value comes from stop-and-go functionality.

Funny - On my 3rd use of highway ACC today it decided to error out once we got off the highway. The error disappeared after turning off the car and there were no ACC problems coming home. Ah, electrical gremlins are so fun (our Range Rover Sport SVR had similar "just turn it off to fix it" computer issues).

None of the nannies are worth a dime on a 911.

Works perfectly.

Favorite option along with Bose and ventilated seats.

Yeah, saw that earlier! You must be enjoying the 992 as we are. I traded in my Mercedes S-coupe for the 992. We still have the SVR and use it for more practical needs.
