Default Adding Options After Delivery?

Has anyone been successful in adding options after delivery? Regret not getting the power folding mirrors...

There is some minor stuff you can do but it’s mainly minor cosmetic bits. For mirrors or that sort of thing you are probably looking at outrageous pricing. Someone here wanted to change the color of their tachometer and it was around $5k to do so via the dealer, even though it’s like a $400 option.

Wow thats insane! Yah wondering if anyone had any first hand experience. Do you know if the mirrors manually fold?

Also does anyone know the paint code for Dr. Colorchip for just white? They dont seem to have the 2020 models on their site so not sure which kit to order

That’s why we load up on options, even if we don’t know whether we want them!

All I know is I wanted to add Apple Car Play to my ‘18 Cayman when I bought it off the lot. $300 option from the factory. Dealer said it was $3K to add after.

See below video for what goes into a dealer after market installation of Car Play in a Macan. Reasonably involved job. Kind of interesting to see (at least for the car geek in me).

Yes, mirrors fold...just rotate them towards the door while applying slight upward pressure.

lol...agreed. I'd never park my car anywhere the mirrors needed to be folded (manually or via electrics). We opted to not get folding mirrors, but my wife wondered aloud the other day whether they fold manually. "Yes, dear...I'm sure they do," he said gingerly while lifting and rotating.

Well, to be fair, that 9K price is spec'ing the PCCBs as a factory option (which takes into account the fact that they you are essentially "trading in" the standard iron brakes).

When you buy a set of PCCBs after-the-fact for 25K, you get not only the set of PCCBs but also your original factory OEM iron brakes.

Porche labor is expensive.

Porsche OEM parts are expensive. But compared to their labor rates, their parts prices are almost like free.

Folding mirrors is a convenient option because you can set a preference so the side mirrors automatically fold in whenever you lock the car. Added safety for any public parking situation. Many lesser cars have it by default, but in Porsche fashion it's a $$$ add-on right now...

they fold, but I’m not sure they stick out from the widest part of the side more than an inch or two, due to the very wide fenders.

I would only use folding mirrors if I had a tight situation in my garage otherwise I would never use them in a parking lot. There is absolutely no reason to park that close anywhere and I would much rather pay to fix a door ding rather than new mirror.
