I don't see a "discover current phase" button on that home page. Was that button always there for you, or did it only appear once there were pictures to be had?

See if this helps. I've circled and put a red arrow in the "Discover current phase" that is on my screen.

FWIW, they're still showing mine in phase "3" although it's presently on a ship in the English Chanel.

 

My car completed production 9/30 per dealer and TDY — great news. The “ discover current phase”still shows as “scheduled for production” and no photos. Shipping date shows as 10/23.

 

Your VIN number on this screenshot is garbled. the VDS and VIS sections are in the wrong order. Weird.

 

I purposefully "massaged" it in Photoshop. Seemed like it might be a prudent thing to do before publishing it on the internet.

 

Haha, i was wondering if that's what happened but I figured it would be too much work. Nice! I was just curious how close out VIN is given the identical prod and ship dates.

Thanks blue highways. It appears that some people get a fresh TYD email each time their vehicle enters a new stage. Not me. I received one email in August and have been using that, since, to check my status. I think that's why my home page is not the same as yours, despite the car being in Emden. Oh well...maybe that pic will show up one day...and hopefully we're not idled by the EPA cert. Some Rennlisters have been waiting months already.

 

I was wondering if Porsche will post a picture of my car on the trackyourdream portal at some point during production (now). Do they do so for every car? If so, do they post the pic while it's in production or after? Thanks.

 

It is entirely random....lot of guys never got anything. I didn't. Some do. No rhyme or reason as to who and when it will appear if it does. Good luck.

 

Thanks. I got a message back on this, and it might happen at any point during production. So, I'll be watching out for one as it's being built now.

 

Does the dealer forward your email address to PNA after the Lock date or anytime after you've ordered and gotten a Commission #?

When I first put in my order and it was "accepted" and commission number assigned, I received the TYD invitation email from Porsche within a day. My SM later traded allocations with a dealer in LA to get an earlier slot, so my build was associated with that commission number - my access to TYD disappeared. After a few go-arounds with my SM with no success, he engaged the area rep for assistance, and the problem was resolved immediately. I had pretty much given up hope before that, so it seems that you just have to get the right people involved.

Regarding production pictures, it does seem to be highly variable. Some people get two (or three?), others get one, some get none. I got one end of production picture, but it didn't appear on my TYD until 10 to 14 days after production was completed.

 

Very early for me of course (lock is 2/22), but in case there's any hiccups; better to sort them out early. I'll contact my SA tomorrow as he's out today. Thanx dgtarga

If your dealer is of no help, try what I did: call 1-800-PORSCHE, give them your commission number and tell them you want to update your email in the customer profile for TYD access. I called and after a few days I magically got access to TYD (still no invite email but it just showed up on the MyPorsche site one day).
