^ I will chime in….sport cats mostly increase turbo sounds and may have a performance benefit. They don’t increase volume much.

I expect the catback exhaust will not do that. Two different things.

^ I think if you look around this forum a bit, you will see that your question about the sport cats has already been answered exhaustively.

So if you had to choose sport cats or exhaust for slightly better sound, which would it be?

Thinking it might be easier to add a valved exhaust INSTEAD of sports cats so I dont have to risk the CEL.

I'm with you. I'd like to keep the factory cats to avoid CEL issues and adding unnecessary pollution to the environment but really looking to waken the sound of my very weak exhaust. Just not sure if going exhaust alone with stock cats would be worth the cost/effort. Seems like many people do just the cats or both cats and exhaust, but not just exhaust alone.

I have Akropovic slip on exhaust with stock cats. Sounds way better than PSE.

The 992 has electronically actuated valves which close when you start driving, staying closed until 4k, then opening progressively. This is the biggest contributor to the car being quiet. I have the ability to change that, but it would require a tune. Our Valved Exhaust System would slightly increase the sound with valves closed, and more-so with them open, but not like going with a hi-flow cat.

If you have any questions, or are on the fence about high flow vs OEM cats, please shoot us a DM so we can chat one on one and make the proper suggestions to suit your goals. There are too many options to cover without threadjacking this post (even more than I have!)

The 911 is relatively subdued even with the PSE. Looks like the performance oriented guys need to go aftermarket as it seems Porsche has set the tone and volume of the 992 exhausts for the guys who drive theirs to Country Club Socials and weekly manicures.

For the money, power, and refined sound: SOUL Sport Cats w/ M-Engineering ECU Tune (OBD2)
You can open the PSE valves 100% so the sound comes through.

And add SOUL Headers if you're a badass.

Almost, my friend.

A TRUE badass does: M tune, headers, AND a NON-valved exhaust with sport cats (or if you are a supreme badass, decatted).

I only know about one forumer here who has done that complete mod

Alright confirming for MY2020 -- No spacers with the sensor directly into the sport cat equals no CEL. Thanks @Soul Performance for working with me through this. Awesome, and back to the road!

God I love the 2020 model.

My comfort access doesn't work (I actually think I don't even have comfort access--whatever, who cares....) but at least my sport cats don't throw a CEL
