Oh, Jeez, every GT4 owner is now going to cite this article at Cars & Coffee and of course, extend the smack talk to say that their car is as fast as a 918 or GT2R. LOL
PZeroes exist to keep the rims from getting scratched when the car leaves the factory. Cup 2s aren't a fair fight.

I love the GT4 and seriously considered it over the 992 S, but ultimately wanted something a little bigger and more comfortable for the day to day. As the post above states, however, this certainly isn't a fair fight. Outside of the fact that we're looking at the most track-focused 718 there is compared to a run-of-the-mill 911, those Sport Cup 2 tires are probably worth 3-4 seconds on the track.

What I find interesting, is the Nurburgring time between the C2S & GT4. Only 5 seconds difference. Anyone know what tires they were running on each?

I saw this earlier and thought 'nope, ignore it and pretend it never happened'!
But I agree, the cup 2's have to be worth enough to make the difference. But when you think about it, every 992 track tested so far must have been only on Goodyears or PZeros - the car has posted some amazing times on other tracks, so the foundation is definitely there.
I really do like the GT4, but I'd be pretty self conscious driving it - I appreciate the ability but it really does shout about it.

Same tire difference BTW (GT4 has Michelin Cup 2's and 992 S has PZero's).

I very much prefer the 911 experience. It's the complete package.

That's interesting to hear - and, perhaps somewhat weirdly, quite heartening for me! My 992 is my first 911 (second Porsche) so I dont have a lot of experience of P cars generally.

Jesus.
We're talking about a difference of 0.36 seconds? Point three six seconds.
Not 3 seconds. Not 6 seconds. Not 36 seconds.
But point three six seconds.
For crissake. Get a grip.

The Cayman GT4 crosses the line in 1.33.26 minutes, only a second behind the Mercedes-AMG GT C, and more importantly, manages to beat the 992 Carrera S' time of 1.33.62.

Were the times even run on the same day? The video does not include both cars.
Quick Google search shows 992 Carrera S lap was published January 3, 2020 and the GT4 published May 30, 2020.
