I've been with USAA for more than 15 years and just switched to Progressive for their rates. They were consistently 40-50% cheaper than every other major brand (I quoted about 10 different carriers). I view insurance as a "nuclear" policy in case things were to go really poor, as I'm well off enough to stomach risk personally. But, I'm not one to go cheap on things, but I haven't filed a claim in more than 10 years (only claims have been for glass, or my old honda accord that was stolen but later recovered all damaged).

I have 3 cars (Tesla M3P, Honda Odyssey, and 992C2S) with them for what its worth on the discounts. For the 992, I pay $365 every 6 months.

Details:
250/500100 bodily injury/liability
UIM 250/500
UNM 250/500
Medical 10k
$1000 deductible for both comp/collision with full glass coverage
modest rental reimbursement
38yr male, 37yr female on policy, no accidents or tickets on record that I know of

At the suggestion of my agent, I recently switched to Progressive and the premium was literally 50% of what I was paying with Travelers.

I also have an umbrella policy (and our Q7+Tundra) via Geico. My 240z is insured via Haggerty.

Now Geico is telling me that I'll need to insure ALL my cars through Geico to keep the umbrella policy. I guess it's time to dump Geico altogether. Such BS. Anyone know of a good umbrella policy carrier that does not require all your autos are also insured with the same company?
I had the same issue with Farmers. I switched autos (992, 997 and Lexus) to Porsche insurance, and Farmers told me that I couldn't keep umbrella even though I had house coverage with them. It turns out they can't cancel umbrella until next January, so next year I will have to figure out an alternative. If any Porsche Insurance company users find an answer to this, let us know.

I’m slow to consider changing insurance companies as for me an umbrella and agent competence are dominant factors. But adding a 2021 C2S to a 2020 Cayenne Hybrid pushed my Farmers premium to $3,200 annually. Early 50-s, only driver, clean record, 10-15,000 miles a year. I was told there is currently significant vandalism of expensive cars in UT.

The other competent local agency is Allstate. They quoted me $2,700 along with a super low umbrella premium for high coverage.

The other majors aren’t local which would probably offset savings. Any thoughts before I marry Allstate?

I just went online after reading about progressive rates. Filled in all the information I’m trying to insure three cars. BMW M2 competition GT four and a 992CS. They came back @ $1900 for six months. About identical to what I’m paying with State Farm. Plus their coverage didn’tDidn’t have any uninsured motorist or medical payments. Unfortunately a no go .carl

Been with Geico for 10 years or so:

I'm 33yo and my wife is 29yo, no accidents/tickets
250/500/100 liability
UIM/UM 250/500 non-stacked
$10,000 PIP
$30/day rental Reimbursement
$500 comprehensive and $1000 collision deductibles
7000 miles per year

$1300 a year

Have an 09 and 14 CRVs and home insurance. The other 2 cars are $1600 a year together with $500/$500 deductibles. Adding umbrella insurance as soon as I can.

Sounds like you’re getting a great deal. Unfortunately there are no local Geico agents that come recommended.

Responses really should include location info. My rates drop by 70% if I put my North Carolina address in rather than my Southern California address.

I am in the process of getting a quote for a 97 993 from Leland West, I am trying this company because it offers agreed value with unlimited mileage. The agreed value is $50k for the 97 993 tip 60k miles good condition no accidents unlimited mileage.
While typing this, I just received the offer for $810/year for my wife and me as drivers in late 50's.
I had another coverage for less premium but 3k miles limit and would not cover me if I drove more than 5k/year.
I am not sure if I can mention a specific company name here. If not allowed, my apologies.

Would you be doing an umbrella with Leland West?

I have not considered getting umbrella coverage for an auto policy but always with home insurance.
I need to talk to the Leland West agent about it.
Thanks for suggesting it.

I agree totally.
My wife and I are approaching 60 and we worked hard and saved as much as possible. With C19 around, I realized that we could be gone anytime so spend some of my savings on a 993 that I always planned to buy.
Besides the value does not drop as a new car does.

I have an umbrella policy through Travelers (they have a discount through my work) and my home and auto are through State Farm. Their requirements for coverage were certain monetary requirements on the home and auto coverage. Didn't see any questions regarding the insurance policy having to be through one company when I signed up.

I have had Geico for 30 years. Always had great rate for several cars even when my sons were young and starting to drive. I moved to Florida 2 years ago and was surprised how expensive car insurance is down here.
I got a lower quote from Progressive, called Geico and they matched it. I have higher coverage and a $2mill umbrella @ $1000 every 6 months for my TTS and my wife’s Macan. More than I was paying in Pa but as good as I could in Fl.
