Let’s see your recent drive pictures!
Given most everybody’s stay at home rules, it’d be great to start up a thread of photos of their surroundings and their cars that folks have taken who are able to get out. Kind of a virtual drive in a way. It remains a popular thread on the 991 sub forum.
So, even more reason that I’d love to see yours!

Nice overhead view-
Why did Porsche not make the rear window the same width as the glass roof? Or rather why did the sunroof not match the front AND rear window width?
As an architect I could not stand that unresolved issue and bought a steel roof car....

Exactly! I bought the steel sunroof on my white 2017 and will do so again when I get a 992. You can see why they do it though, I’m sure a wider drop in sunroof “cassette” would interfere with the structural integrity if it was a wider piece. The other problem, for me is with lighter cars, the dark centre reminds me of a reverse skunk stripe. Everyone has their own personal taste, but the glass roof is very popular - there isn’t once coupe on my dealer’s lot without a glass roof. Funny, that almost every promotional coupe picture Porsche puts out is with a steel roof or steel sunroof. I wonder which style they think looks best?

outside aesthetics (and my desire to stay out of the sun in general) is why I went with the steel sunroof ... too much glass for me on the transparent roof, even if on the inside I prefer it's versatility.

aston martins do a good job of this I’ve noticed, it’s a nice look on their more pointy shapes for sure.

Which to my eye makes the steel roof look better - especially with lighter colours. The Jet Black and Metallic black cars look good (to me), the rest look better with a steel sunroof and the few black lines breaking up the solid roof. But Porsche sells a lot of cars with glass roofs so my opinion is in the minority. It just makes it impossible for me to find an in stock car in white with a steel sunroof.
