Before taking delivery check item list:
This is a list I have been compiling to check before signing off on the paperwork of a new car. This is based off of posts here, and please, I welcome additions, thanks.
At time of dealer Prep:
1. Wheel alignment - check, print results
2. Comfort tire pressure settings: 29/32
At time of purchase:
3. Shipping blocks removed
4. Signs of shipping damage, inside and outside
5. Speakers - check for blown speakers, vibration, at different volume levels
6. Draft dealer damage sign-off letter: simple letter, with the car's VIN included, and have a statement to the effect- "this car has not been repaired in any way during the transportation process and dealership preparation process"

Picked that one up from somebody’s suggestion in another thread. It couldn’t hurt. The last two cars I asked verbally anyway, so why not write it up?
The Porsche dealership and service used to be a 15 minute run when I lived in Reston, but now I live two hours from service. I just want no issues when I drive off the lot as it’s a hassle now.

Three Wheelin'
If this question is off-topic I apologize, but I’ve been meaning to ask and it is delivery-related.
Do they drill anything (e.g., license plate bracket) into the bumper? Or add anything else that isn’t shown on the configurator? I remember the 996 Turbo had some “bumperettes” added that we’re not shown in pictures but apparently required in the US and owners were pissed.

No, they don't IME. Bumpers come virgin unless you ask for front plate mount. I live and purchased my car in a no front plate state (PA) and the car was originally on the lot in a front license plate state (NJ) and traded between the dealers for an allocation. Nothing drilled in it. When I look at new inventory in NJ (I live on the border), I don't see holes or bumper plugs in new NJ cars.

My car should be here next week, so thought to revive this for me and my boat buddies.
