Launch control related wear and tear

Launch control related wear and tear
Hi guys,
so I have a 2020 C2S gentian blue. I have read and seen articles and videos umpteen times saying that the dual clutch and general bulletproof engineering of the car means you can do launch control all day long. I've also heard this from all top German porsche engineers who say it has zero effect on long term reliability. Porsche has also confirmed zero affect on warranty.
So my question is if this is true? I have done around 30-40 so far in 3 months. I find it addictive. I hope by continuing to do so I'm not damaging or causing any unnecessary wear and tear to my vehicle as I intend to keep it till the next generation arrives.

Btw, tires aren't covered under the warranty and if you're doing that many launches, you will go through those more quickly.

So, I'd say it's worse to come in an make a post, bagging on the guy, and NOT offering your opinion on the topic at hand.
OP,
I too have that "feeling" inside that I'm doing something "wrong" too. But, I'm sure you have a warranty and it's why I purchased a Fidelity Warranty for my car.
Enjoy that Launch feeling and rest easy

As a data point I had an Audi TTS with a 6 speed dual clutch that had such turbo lag I ended up using launch control almost daily to get fast starts (yes I beat on it).
After 2 years of this the clutch was getting very "juddery" when engaging - I was thinking "time to trade it in" but it was stolen so I never found out if it was permanently knackered or not!

There's no free lunch.
Sure, you have a warranty, but, what happens after that.

We all get that and I’m sure the OP does too, given his acknowledgment of what he found out.
What I’m saying is, forums like this or not just for getting information and then leaving. It’s a community. People feel good about being engaged and like others to post in their threads giving their opinions and such.
it’s about being empathetic towards the poster and either sympathizing with his feelings like I did or offer your other opinion.
But anyway.... As you were.

You've done 30-40 launches out of 90 days of driving. That's an average of 120-160 annually at that rate. Are you trolling, serious or just looking for trouble.
The cars are well built but if you abuse them as I'm guessing your not at the track but on public streets you can eventually see something go boom or worse you will kill one of us while launching.

All of these could be in very open areas. It’s a very controlled thing especially in these new cars, And in no way, especially if it’s a four-wheel-drive car, would it be that dangerous unless it’s in packed traffic.
i’ve launched my car several times as well. Some on the track but some on empty open roads.
i’m sure the OP is using due regard and if not hopefully he will start.

cars at the PEC center get launched repeatedly , usually they sell them after few thousand miles. It will interesting if a mechanic that have dealt with some of these cars can make a comment...

Question is about the potential mechanical ill-effects of launching.

you have a point, but I have 6 years warranty including the extended one I have taken. And as I said I intend to keep this till the next gen 911 arrives. So I guess it almost covered the life cycle.
