i did it on the online configurator and I negotiated a percent off msrp. When the dealer put in my specs into the 2021 allocation the CA defaulted standard and everything else was same except msrp bump of 1800. Another interesting thing is they are calling all alcantara Sport-Tex for 2021. On my build the alcantara steering wheel has turned to “sportex”

I noticed on the Turbo S configurator Alcantara is referred to as Race-Tex.

I actually think comfort access is a low priced option, but it’s pretty divisive in terms of whether people seem to want it or not... I for one am happy I could skip it on my 2020... i had enough fun with the hands free frunk mocking me on my 2017.

i could see LCA being a nicer freebie if the implementation is nice and it doesn’t add any weight.

estimated delivery in oct
Interesting on the estimated delivery date. I ordered 3/4 and my date is 9/18. And I have a 2020. I thought I read on a thread that Porsche isn’t going to switch model years until November/December? Not trying to pick an argument, just collecting data points because there isn’t much else to do :-)

the info I got was that when the line restarts all Builds will be 2021 for the carrera. All I can go on is my GM but historically he has been dead on and he’s also a friend of mine so he has no motivation to yank my chain. It’s anyone’s guess at this point tho. I know I have an allocation for a 2021 so I’d assume they wouldn’t be handing out allocations if the changeover was happening in dec.

I question whether anyone knows the real answer (even Porsche Germany) right now. Let's face it, no one even knows when the production lines can re-start or what the supply chain will look like. So it may be moving target. I think it's interesting that the Canadian configurator was changed a couple weeks ago with slightly higher base prices, standard CA and a couple of added options. We speculated that it represented the 2021 model. But all the changes disappeared after a few days. Maybe that indicates a change of plans back in Germany?

But I think that this is the most interesting comment made so far regarding the 2021 model. If accurate, it indicates that Porsche's internal systems at least are starting 2021 allocations . . .

I got an entire order packet with my build, Deposit and standard features from the dealer.

Interesting tidbit is my build code that the dealer supplied me won’t work on the Porsche website, keeps giving me an error. I presume this is because the consumer site isn’t updated to 2021 yet.

Thanks for that. Do you have a printout with the “v codes”? Curious what your V200 date is. I also will be curious if on-hold orders (like mine) will still be 2020 MY or if they will all be changed to 2021. If all the cars are 2021 MY after they restart, I wonder if they’ll come back to me to increase the MSRP?

I also notice that one part of the TYD website shows my order date as being 3/5, one shows 4/16, and my printout from the dealer shows the date I actually gave them the deposit which was 3/4, so there’s a discrepancy across their systems. Again—not complaining, just observing and trying to triangulate :-)

Well I guess that will keep us from having to refer to 2020 builds as Pre-Corona and Post-Corona.

This is the pre-China virus 992 (2-1-2020):

Great car. It's first trip was to Amelia Island for the 2020 event.:

Those who have their 21 order in... Did your dealer have the 21 ordering guide/information on his computer?
