Default Mirrortap Install V1 Radar detector with Blendmount

Hello all. We were able to find a brown and white wire when disconnecting the mirror from the windshield and pulling away the larger plastic cover. However this seems to be non-switched and maintains power on all the time. Has anyone found with any of the wires up there a good tapping point that will switch off when the car is off?

First the back of that large panel has two normal clips. Pull downa nd the 2 will pop out. Then see the picture step two to push away from the roof and it slides out. Very easy and gentle to remove that as opposed to the light unit. There are several wires under there. There is also another set which i tapped into after pulling the mirror away. However the Brown/white under there is powered all the time. Looking for an option to tap into that is switched. Instead of guessing, if anyone finds anything with a multimeter, let us know.

Is there not a neater/cleaner way to wire the detector? I hope you can find a way to get that hideous wire directly up and into the
blob that holds the mirror to the glass.

I am going to relocate where the wire comes out after we all find a way to tap into something that powers off. For now i am leaving it like this and turning on and off my detector manually. If someone finds a switched source i will crack it back open, and move it. Also that was a different mount froma differnt Porsche i had. Blendmount suggest BV1-2032 and are able to sell me just the parts that are different fro my old mount. Call them if you need a Mirrortap wire or a Blendmount. However, they have not had any feedback as to where to tap the Mirrortap yet.
