Default DIY - Wiring overhead console for Radar etc.

I have not received my blendmount and my wiring yet, but I know that some of you are waiting to install yours, so I took the plunge.
********* Do this at your own risk *******************

There are two sections, Only part #1 has to be removed. The radar wire can be threaded through the circled area on part #2.

There are two covers, only the circled one has to be opened. There is a torx screw behind it. Remove it.

Push the circled clips in with a credit card and it should drop right out. There was very little resistance.

There are two blue plugs in a holder. Use the one on the right. Remove it from the holder. The white one is power. The middle one (grey/clear) is ground. This switches on and off with the ignition.

While I had the console off, I decided to tackle the overly bright overhead seat belt indicator. I used a vinyl film that I had lying around and the adhesive was not too tacky so it was perfect. I cut the shape out and stuck it on.

New Valentine 1 V2 installed

Also put a tint over the white ambient light and it is less harsh now at night

Nice 6TT!

I stuffed my V1 wire in between the A-pillar and windshield, and wired it to the fusebox.

Curious how you like the new model! I have my old one so dialed in, I almost don't want to mess with it (X and K bands disabled solves nearly all of the issues with the old model, IMHO).

I do the same thing in my cars, always works well and wire is hidden. Blendmounts ftw.

Can you elaborate ? Do you mean the wire for the radar connector? If so, remember, I don’t have my wires yet. I did this so that you can get going.

i sent mine in the end of last week for the upgrade. i'm not sure if i made the cutoff before they went on backorder... their website looks like it's only a week delay... the masses have spoken... sold out stock in 10 days...

I’ve temporarily driven with the coiled cable (rental car for example), and it drives me crazy. At least yours isn’t hanging from the top of the windshield, but that detector placement isn’t ideal. What do you do when you need to charge your phone with the cig lighter or something similar?

Next to installing the V1 somewhere in the front bumper/grill, where I have it is the next best ideal location.

I haven't needed to charge anything while diving. All I have is a smart phone. I don't even own a car charger for it.

If you tap into the Passenger Airbag on/off light, maybe the light will shut off permanently. I would consider that a Win/Win.
