I believe both are Dolomite and looked dynamite with the lighting at the auto show. It looks very different in the sunlight, however.

Are these both Dolomite do you think?

Again, color wheel crests go a long way.

I believe so. One of them is Dolomite with a Truffle Brown interior. There’s a YouTube video that shows the vehicle and then pans to the build with a list of options.

I had GT Silver on a 991.1 and under blue skies, with full sun, its beautiful. Under a grey sky, GT silver is VERY VERY boring.
I would suggest Dolomite as it has more blue in it.

My Dolomite... really like the colour, first instinct was to play it safer with GT silver.

Beautiful car. Looks great in sunlight. I find myself in a similar predicament. I’m still leaning Dolomite but thinking about playing it safe.

Love your build. Did you consider having the wheels finished in satin or high gloss black to isolate the five chrome spokes?

Besides lighting, the interior trim and -as Detansinn says, the color wheel crests - also make the color of the car look different. I had a GT silver with black interior that I changed the caps on depending upon my winter or summer wheels (alternating between both silver and the color crests) and it looked like a "tougher" silver with the gold caps on it. The silver caps on it blended in better--the gold brought out the blackish hue. The Dolomite is beautiful--but I see it as an ice blue color and not a true silver. Actually in one of these pictures it looks almost white-ish. I don't think you will go wrong with either.

My 991.2 Cab was GT with a red roof. If I go the silver route again with my 992, I'll probably switch to Dolomite.

One day saw a dolomite 992 on a rainy, gray day, and it had such a blue glow to it, I had never seen dolomite like that, in pictures it just looked like a very very bright silver, and from then on, I thought of it as a very interesting, subtle, classy as hell color.

Much harder to think about a preference between them, I think ideally, buyers choosing between them would see each in a variety of lighting conditions, perhaps with different wheels/interiors, and the answer would speak to them, unfortunately I’m not really sure the configurator is enough to get you there, and of course IRL probably impossible for most as well.

As a new Dolomite owner, I have to say that the photos on this posting are very good indicators of the color... that and I have a fancy monitor
which certainly can alter colors if not balanced.

Yessir. I concur with this sentiment.

We recently drove a unicorny 992 C2S 7MT in GT Silver on partly sunny day. Really pretty color in those conditions, as shown below. However, when we brought the car back, clouds had moved in. The indirect, gray lighting muddied the color up something fierce and made it very ordinary.

Sorry I have no pics to illustrate the latter. Let's just say that if I lived in a sunny state, GT Silver is The Bomb. Washington or Oregon? Probably not so much.

Dolomite at night. Under certain street lighting, it looks GT Silver. At other times, it pulls in the blue from its surroundings.

Wow! Great shots.

Generally, I can see the difference between Dolomite (the shades of blue) and GT Silver (little darker). But, at night they look very, very similar. Hard to tell them apart.

Would you say that Dolomite has more variability than GT Silver? In other words, Dolomite is more likely to change its appearance at different times of the day/night than GT Silver?

Thanks for sharing!
