Saw a dolomite on a rainy day, outdoors, it looked SO blue I couldn’t believe it, very cool color. Don’t trust digital photos, make sure to see each with your own eyes, in sunlight.
GT Silver is darker and richer. Almost seems to have a slight purple hue in some lighting. Dolomite is more pure-silver, lighter and blue-ish.
Hard to comprehend either in a photograph. GT silver really stands out as a deep, special color when under the right lighting. I believe it was a $10k option when first launched.
This photo has some filtering and adjustments but IMO is actually a pretty accurate representation of GT silver. Other pics make it seem less sharp and washed out.
GT Silver is such a unique, rich silver. What a great color.
I’m leaning toward it or Agate Grey for our C2S. Yeah, I get that silver 911s are as common as blondes in Hollywood. It bothered me until recently, when my wife and I met a kind, very dapper and lively eightysomething couple at a Taycan launch party at our dealer.
We introduced and engaged pleasantries over cocktails. Then he whipped out an old photo of a young airman standing behind a silver 356 cabriolet. The car was parked in front of an even more silver F-4 fighter jet.
”That’s me,” he said. His wife beamed and said, “He was such a handsome pilot. And that was his jet!”
They both proceeded to explain to us they’ve owned several Porsches over the last 60-plus years. All were silver, including her current Panamera (“He’s afraid to ride with me. Says I drive too fast.”) They never considered another color. Why, I asked?
He turned toward me like he was answering an obvious question posed by a child — you know, why are wheels round, Grandpa?
”Because,” he said, “silver is the national racing color of Germany. All Porsches should be silver!” She nodded enthusiastically. If they’d offered to sell me a silver toaster, I’d have bought three.
Don’t entirely agree with their line of thinking, but it’s still good enough for me. Common or not, a 911 painted in any variant of silver is a great, classic choice.

I had heard that about silver but I think the German racing color is white, no?
Just my opinion:
my father in law has a Dolomite Silver Macan. It is very light and in low light it has a very light blue hue to it. I personally hate it.
GT silver is darker and deeper and looks gorgeous in all lights.
Again just my opinion. I’d kill to have a 21 Dolomite over my 6 year old 3 series!
