You will throw codes without the valve actuators plugged in and apparently, when you plug them in, you can't just leave them hanging out -- they need to move something. I think that it was Soul Performance that recently showed a valve-less exhaust system that gave the actuators "something to do".

Correct the exhaust system for the 992 is unlike the 991 where there are vacuum lines to plug. These have electronic accuators as noted and if not plugged in the system will recognize it and throw faults! I believe someone has a solinoid plug for the cars which if you plug in can trick the car into leaving things open but have not seen anyone who has done it and worked.

Armytrix carries a valve delete box as well. I’m probably going to order that and see if that works. I’ll report back once I receive it.

If I had PSE added by my dealer, is it possible to have the hard button toggle rather than having to go thru the PCM? Thanks.

I’ve ordered a full Akrapovic system with link pipes and am glad I didn’t waste money on a PSE option only to remove it from my car upon delivery. I’m planning to get a Litchfield ECU remap down the track thus why I’ve moved this way with an aftermarket exhaust.

That said many users have been very happy with their PSE choices which by the end of the exercise is more cost effective than a full Akrapovic or equivalent system with link pipes. You also need to change the rear diffuser which is relatively costly in order to suit your new exhaust tips, as the non PSE diffuser has different openings. All things to consider.
Best of luck either way 👍
Farmlyf-I am in the similar boat as you were. Can I ask in addition to the rear diffuser (would you happen to have the part number), what other components did you have to retrofit to accommodate the new openings?

Yes, will have to have your friendly Porsche dealer hook the car up to the PWITS and re-code the car to activate the PSE coding software and allow the button to appear on your PCM. Can also re-code then to one of the toggles if you don't have a dedicated exhaust switch. Some have had good luck getting dealers to do this while others have not and dealers have refused to re-code these cars. Good luck.

Vixcan (or anyone else) - is it possible to code in the opposite direction? I have a 992 C2S with PSE that I would prefer to deactivate and in particular I'd like to get rid of the farty backfire sounds. I don't ever turn on PSE and know to stay away from Sport Mode but it would be nice if it was just gone altogether. Is that possible?

Thanks! That's what I do now (actually individual mode because I don't want auto start stop activated) but it would be nice to be able to make use of the other modes if there is a simple software fix.

Sport mode is the only mode with burbles and pops

If you want Sport mode without burbles and pops, and you find Sport + mode too aggressive for regular driving, why not just make Sport mode with PSE off as your "Individual" driving mode?

This is great!!! Thank you for your hard work. Hopefully my SoCal dealership will be willing to do this when my car arrives.
