Default Laser Jammer Install for 992

Hi - I've done several searches, but haven't located any threads that describe an install of a laser jammer system on a 992. I'm specifically looking for information on the AntiLaser Priority (ALP) system which I had in my last vehicle (Audi S6) and would like to move to my new 911.

I have 2 sensors which I'll install on the front and may possibly add a third. I'd like to install 1 sensor underneath each of the lights and then possibly a third sensor in the middle of the bumper. A couple problems: the active louvers under the lights may interfere with possible install locations and I can't see a path for wires from the middle area of the bumper through to the inside of the vehicle.

I'm also not clear where I'd get power. In my last install on the S6, I used a fuse tap to connect into the fuse box in the engine. For the 992, I don't see any fuse boxes in the front of the vehicle.

Has anyone had a successful laser jammer / shifter ("parking sensor") install and could share some detail?

Fuse boxes located in both footwells, behind the plastic covers next to your feet

I have my Escort Max and NextBase front and rear dashcams directly wired into the fuse box in the driver's side and passenger side footwell respectively. That worked fine and made for a quick installation using a fuse tap. However, for the laser jammer sensors, since they're mounted on the front bumper, I'd prefer not to have to bring the wires through the firewall into the passenger compartment. If there was a fuse box somewhere in the front end of the 992, it would be easier to just tap into that. Unless someone is aware of an easy method to get a wire through the firewall (I do see a black rubber plug in the driver's side of the firewall, so maybe.....).

My goal with the ALP laser jammer is to connect the 3 front bumper sensors to a power source in the front end of the 992 (but not into the passenger compartment). I would then use the bluetooth connection from the ALP control module to connect to my cell phone where I can control and monitor all the laser jammer settings (as well as immediately disable the ALP system if I get hit with laser).

At least, that's the plan. This is assuming I can find a power source and a place to attach the sensors.

I'm not a big fan of the 3rd party dashboard mounted radar/laser control units I've seen installed - so prefer to use a phone to control these systems as it looks cleaner.

Ah sorry got ya - sorry I haven't explored the front end of the 992 in detail as yet, so not sure if there is a fuse box hiding away up there, but would make sense to be located near the battery. But yes I suspect going through the rubber grommet into the passenger footwell will be the way to go.

I would say be careful tapping fuses but you sound like you know exactly what you're doing. Which fuses did you tap out of interest?

I tapped the left ventilated seat fuse (driver side fuse box) and right ventilated seat fuse (passenger side fuse box) for radar and dashcam. Seemed like the least likely fuse to cause any severe damage if something went wrong.

I'm beginning to wonder if nobody is bothering with laser jammers these days. I know they saved me several tickets in my S6, so would have thought there'd be more interest with the 992.

Nice work. Let's hope you don't end up with a hot drivers side and passenger side bum.

Here is my install. 3 shifters in front and 2 in rear. Unable to use the new Tx head since the front height is not high enough. Apparently they need a minimum ground to sensor height. This was the only car I did not install myself. Done by a local shop. Happy with the set-up and yes- no tickets so far.

Thanks for the pics, that's great information.

Can you tell how the installer connected the 3 front sensors to power? Did they bring the sensor cables through the firewall into the passenger compartment (and fuse boxes) or did they find a place in the front of the car to connect to power. To get the sensor wires through the front bumper area, did they have to drill any holes through the bumper or did they find a place to pass the cables through.
