Default Fabspeed Sport Cats just installed!

Just got the Fabspeed Sport Catalytic Convertors installed on my 992!

Initially, I considered doing a full exhaust swap (like Akrapovic). But I didn't want to spend a ton of extra $$ (especially when the Porsche sport exhaust is already pretty great). I just wanted some additional volume to the exhaust. So I decided to go with the Sport Cats. I considered both Soul and Fabspeed, but in the end I went with Fabspeed. I ordered thru Vivid Racing and they were great to work with.

Overall, I am very pleased with the sound. In normal mode there isn't much of a difference. But in Sport mode it really comes alive. You get a lot more burbles from the exhaust (and overall it is a little louder). Sport Plus also seems louder but no burbles from the exhaust. I haven't noticed much difference in performance (probably because the Carrera S is already insanely fast). Here are a few pics and a short video of the exhaust:

Congrats! Very nice. Is this a DIY sort of thing, or requires a shop? Any issues passing smog?

It's funny how a 992 with high flow cats sounds like a GT2RS.

I took it to my dealer just to be safe. But if you know what you are doing it should be pretty easy. You would need a lift for sure. They don't have a install guide for the 992, but it should be similar to the previous gen. install: https://www.fabspeed.com/templates/_...ith%20PSE).pdf

Also, there are no issues with smog. They are using 200 cell cats. I think it will be fine for most states (not sure about California though).

kinda wish they did away with the farts. or offered a no-fart sports-exhaust mode. note there are no farts in sports plus. it's a silly, contrived addition.

No, you can use reuse the same O2 sensors and it doesn't give any check engine light. Fabspeed does offer a full bypass, but that would require reprogramming the ECU. These sport cats offer nearly 90% of the same flow as the bypass, but without any errors.

I wonder how this would sound with the standard 4 outlet exhaust. Perhaps this is the solution for the folks who like the look of the 4 outlet but prefer the sound of the sport exhaust??

100% all the sound comes from the cats . I don,t have a 992 yet but on the forum as I have a carrera T 99.2. I went Akrapovic and didn’t feel it made a huge difference to sport ex. After I added the Sport cats is was beautiful. I am sure the Fab cats add 10-15 HP @ the wheel.

That's tuning, has nothing to do with the hardware itself. It can be tuned out, I'm almost positive.

The crackles and pops are fun and all high end sports cars have that now/. In sports plus is not there So it’s the best of both worlds.

Yeah, that's one of the main reasons I didn't go with the Akrapovic exhaust. I like the fact that they use titanium and the additional weight savings that it brings. But I have heard from a few people they are quieter than you might expect. If you want more volume I would go with sport cats over an exhaust.
