Why no flat bottom steering wheel?
Just curious why the 992 and perhaps all 911's don't have a flat bottom steering wheel? My C63 had it, my Lamborghini has it. Don't get me wrong, I love the look and feel of the GT steering wheel in my 992, but I'm just curious as to why Porsche does not do this.....tradition? or ??

Because it's stupid.
If you can't get in/out of a street car (and, yes, that's what all these car are), then you either need to lose weight, work on your flexibility, or start looking into frequent rider programs with Lyft and Uber. Or all three.

It’s a lot easier to get in/out of a 911. Flat bottom wheels are supposed to help with ingress/egress, especially with a racing bucket. Of course, many cars have them for show.
I like the round wheel as it fits the design and honors the heritage of the car.

It may just be that Porsche's geometry means they don't need one. But I swear my 997.2 steering wheel was slightly flatter on the bottom.

Because wheels are round.

Never liked asymmetrical wheels. Want them to feel the same at every point of steering.
If I need space to get in and out of a racing car then a removable wheel would be my preference but this is a street car.

wow - surprised how strongly some people feel about the steering wheel. personally i think it looks pretty cool, but don't really care that much one way or the other. if i could change anything about my car's steering wheel, i'd make it thicker. i like a meatier wheel.

I like both...don't need it in the 911 as the wheel it comes with is fine and enjoyable and on the other side, love it in my Mclaren...it's perfectly functional and the steering rack operates such that Ive never needed to think about it.
