Default Any previous carrera t owners??

Hello All

just curious if any of you all are previous t owners? If so is it worth making jump to 992? What pushed you to make move? In major dilemma between carrera t and riding base 992. Just looking for insight from other owners.

thanks

I can totally see going from a Carrera T to a C2S, but going to a 992 Base gives up a lot of what made the 991.2 T special for real driving enthusiasts.

Holy smokes, has the 991 Carrera T dropped in value that much?

Figure youll get somewhere in the 80’s for the trade and a 992S (dont even bother with the base) is 120-130... plus tax

thanks! Any experience with tuned t? To be frank I’d be looking at a fairly bare bones base 992 instead of t. Looking at approximately 16k difference between the 2

Yes my T was tuned. I think it needed it. You can tune a base 992 also but they dont have alot of options yet. The T is a great car if u want a manual. The chassis on a manual T is really tricked out. If u want pdk 992 might be worth the extra $.

I have a T and will be looking at a base 992 when I'm ready, which could be soon or could be a while, not sure. I test drove the 992 S recently and found that any handling gains from the T were minor enough to not be extremely noticeable under normal driving. My T is definitely more raw, it's louder and the suspension feels a lot harsher than the new set up. The 992 is just overall a more comfortable car to be in as well, the new seats are better, they sit lower and the cabin feels more refined. Whether that's what you're looking for or not, that's up to you. I bought a used T that was a "deal", after sitting on the lot for 6 months, and I didn't want to go any higher than what I paid. You can recreate 90% of the T experience maybe 95%, by configuring a base 992 with Sport Chrono and the Sports Exhaust and the 4 way seats. And you'll get that experience with a bit more comfort added in. Unless you want a manual of course...anyway, I've played around with the configurator and you can easily be 110-115k with both those options and a few other carefully chosen ones before discount, which at 5% puts you at $104.5-109.2. I'd much rather have the newer interior and the more comfortable experience, but that's just my opinion.

I echo some of the above... Depends on what you want. I have tracked a 992 4S on COTA and daily/cane my T when I am home. I would not want the change, but that is because I want the T. There is little doubt in my mind the 992 IS a better car in every appreciable way on paper. But there is something in the whole that I just don't appreciate as much. Maybe it is the PDK vs MT. Maybe it is the much nicer, updated interior and feel of the car (it FEELS much more premium). Maybe it is a GT vs Sports Car thing. As I have said previously, the 992 is an awesome car, but driving it in anger just made me appreciate my T that much more. Get what you want, you only go around once (that we are aware of...), and be happy with your choice!

Good luck!

I had an '18 T I ordered to my specs. I did love the car but for two things. First, although the manual transmission on the T is fabulous, I preferred the PDK. I think the T to be fully appreciated must be manual. Second, I suffered from "S envy". The T was great until about 80/85 then kind of ran out of guts compared to an S. I traded it for a "17 CS with PDK, PSE, and sport package. To be perfectly honest, the T was all the car I could handle. It just needed PDK. I have driven the 992 S and base and will be ordering a C2 loaded to my specs. I think it is more that enough car for my driving needs.

I have a 2019 T i ordered to my spec. I put Akrapovic cats and full pipe on at 193 miles. Spec was 120k plus 11k in parts. Carbon rear valance is clean. I had to give my T more power. Pre 992 my t ran stronger then the 991.2 S but the GTS pulled slowly on my T. In FL on the dyno it had 383 to the wheel. I love the 992 very much and I have built an S manual at 152k. The only reason I don,t pull the trigger is the 992 GT3. I would buy a 992S manual but again would go full Akrapovic on that as well. Current pipe is 7k and cats same as 991.2 price 3.5k prob put the S at 480-490 hp. Strong with manual, RWS, 21s in the back. I like you am stuck but 992 GT3 Touring is my dream for now. 992 is a new gen and in my eyes all around beautiful. I am sure if u make the switch you can also get the new 992T in a few years if u miss the T The excitement of building exactly what you want only makes the journey more exciting. Good luck my friend.

thanks for the feedback. Curious the details on your t? What was the “deal “ you scored? Seems like pricing is all over the place on them used.
