The 992 is a seriously awesome car and was super stable and planted. Very, very fast. Even for a street car. I can see why they are asking the premiums they are. It's worth the price.
But...
Just something to be said for a MT. And my car (Yes, a 991.2...) felt analog by comparison. And sportier. With all the stuff going on inside and out on the 992, I can absolutely see why folks are calling it more of a GT than a Sports car.
My T is safe for a while... And I stand by some earlier comments RE a 992 T. Porsche are really going to have to take a lot out of the platform to make it feel "pure" and "raw". It's just that good, but sometimes good isn't what you want.
I agree. I saw this beauty today at Porsche Arlington with a $ 140 sticker and no discounting. Add sales tax and VA personal Property Tax and now you are at $ 153k. I love the new 992, but wow. My 2014 991S is worth about $65k with 26k miles on it, and I’m not seeing ninety thousand dollars more car here.
I second this but of course I am also prejudiced with my new to me 991.2 C4. I have driven the prior gens, and the 992. I also echo that IMHO the 992 loses a bit of the analog feel, and that to me is huge.
I am over here shopping 991.1 Turbo S or GT3 for the price of the 992. Then again, I prefer being n-2 with this series of car. Probably the only manufacturer and car I a prefer the older gens while the new one SLOWLY grows on me.

Seriously. This is where I keep landing. Lovely cars, and fun to spec online, but worth $90K over the one I have the title for? Not as of yet. Though I never do seem to keep cars more than two years. Maybe this one will be the exception and I’ll add something different / fun.

There are four 992Ss at a nearby Porsche dealership. The stickers on these cars range from $141- $145K. Four years and $20K miles later, the dealer will probably offer the owner around $70K on a trade-in. Just don't think I'd get $75K worth of driving pleasure over four years. So for me the juice isn't worth the squeeze.
I received a letter in the mail yesterday from my local Porsche dealer with some great news. I can trade in my 991 Turbo S cabriolet and drive away in a new 992 Carrera S coupe for only $54K (options extra, of course)! Hmmmm. Let me see.... I think not.
I hear all y'all on the price (except drcollie... You need to escape NOVA, me Bru! Seriously, it's criminal and there are so many better places to lay your head). If it moved me, I'd still think it was worth it though. P really upped the game with this auto, inside and out. It's just not the kind of 911 I want.

Good luck and hope you find a great one! Don't do an aggressive test drive with a 992 (which was really all yesterday was. Sneaky P Austin!) or it will quickly speed up the slow roll affection.

Awesome profiles of both the cars for sake of comparison. Def not 90K Of difference - and I did not realize where 991.1s were price wise today. That's tons of car for the money.
I'm in the market and cross shopping lightly used 991.2 GT3s against 992s. While obviously not a totally fair comparison, they are now within the same ballpark pricing wise with the car spec'd the way I'd want it.
I just can't get into the 992. While it likely has a great deal to do with the fact that none of the 992s I've driven have an MT, they are night and day different when it comes to driving experience.
While the 992 is silky smooth and very fast, it's lacking in engagement. The "upgraded" interior leaves me cold. It's new and fresh but distracting and not driver oriented. From the width of the transmission tunnel (now huge), to the hard plastics everywhere (compared to soft in the 991), to the distracting screens and nannies (speed alert!), it really turned me off. Something as stupid as removing the cushioning from the transmission tunnel and turning it into hard plastic surround that digs into your leg in the curves speaks volumes about style over substance with this generation. The rear (hideous to me) is the final nail.
I really wanted to like the 992 but it isn't happening.
