I'm liking those subtle gold wheels. Would look great on night blue.

Agreed. Aurum wheels are very nice.

Ditto. Not usually may cup of tea but they do look as if they'd match well with the red, green or blue.

Seems like a honest review, he likes the power and gear box especially in sport plus but thinks ride is stiff ( may be due to sport suspension ) and noise level inside. I believe 992 has less road noise than 991

Just finished watching and agree that he is very balanced in his review.
From a suspension point of view I think the ride is very similar to the 991.2 (I had SPASM) but the difference between the 2 modes is more pronounced in the 992. Def. less road noise in the 992. I've not found the door handles to be stiff and didn't realise the electric pump was under the plastic!

One benefit of not getting SPASM is a much nicer ride in either setting. The C2 I drove was exceptionally smooth compared to a SPASM equipped 4S.

I've got SPASM, PDCC and RWS on mine and it does not seem too rough for me! Handles beautifully. I guess you get used to whatever you drive!?

At the 14:22 mark, he mentions a hidden button behind / between the lower part of the steering wheel. What did it do? My hearing isn't what it used to be. ;-)

Also, did the video make anyone else question the need for the rear wiper (13:07)? Obviously you may not intend to drive it in the rain but things do happen so I was curious .... thanks.

The hidden button is for turning on the heated steering wheel.

My car is ceramic coated. So, water doesn't accumulate on the rear window when I am in motion.
Porsche invented the rear wiper. It's an option that I wish that I had spec'd, because it is a cool tip of the hat to past 911s.

As for the getting the car wet, a 911 should be covered in dirt and snow. I don't understand "fair weather"-only 911 drivers. The car isn't made of tissue paper. The 911 is a mass produced car that is neither rare nor limited in production. The heritage here is endurance racing -- something that's done in inclement weather. Plus, when you get it dirty, it's fun to make it clean again.

Ouch.

He called the car "Soulless", not his favorite 911 and said he would choose a used Aston over the 992. Some of the same criticism being lobbed from the 991 and 997 owners. You are never going to get 100% agreement from ANY group, and that is OK, but more than any other 911 before it, aside from maybe the first year 996, this car definitely has people divided into "Love" or "Hate". That fact alone is terribly unusual for a Porsche 911, a model that has flourished and been almost unanimously admired for 55 years. Time will tell how favorably, or not, the 992 is looked back on.

Harry is an excellent journalist and has a massive stable of cars with a pretty broad focus. That said, I simply don't agree with him here. It's a subjective criticism and there are no absolutes.

Previous generation owners are often negative about the new generation. I've seen it with every car I've ever owned. So that doesn't mean much. The hyperbole about the 991.1 to 991.2 transition was way worse, IMO.

997 is probably more similar to air cooled Porsches than the 991/992, but it's weird to call a 992 soulless compared to a 991. Personally, the 992 is superior in almost every respect to a 991 (NA vs Turbo preferences notwithstanding with the .1 cars).

Porsche changed the plot years ago with the 991, never mind the 996 before, so let's get real.
