992 C2S beats Ford GT350 on the track

A C2S is "more or less" a base 911 now? $16k is more or less? If you put the difference in cost between a GT350 and C2S into track modding a GT350.. it'd absolutely destroy the stock C2S. It's not impressive that the 911 C2S beat it and in general it's an apples to oranges comparison.

It sounds like with a few suspension tweaks to cure the under-steer the GT350 would have had an equal or better time. In another thread the 911 faired poorly in straight line acceleration and braking, placed dead last in sound and now just barely beats a car on the track that cost 1/2 as much. What is it we're paying $150k for?

Are you referring to the thread where it was put up against the Tesla 3? Here is what you're getting for your $150k ($125k, actually): A comfortable GT car that can beat a dedicated track car on track, and accelerate as quick as one of the quickest electric cars. What more do you want?

while I am by no means a fan of it.. and have already covered mine with PPF... I humbly disagree... there are grades and this is better. Last thing I'm going to say about it in this thread as it's not the reason I posted it.

I really don't get these threads. Porsche beats this; Porsche loses to that; Porsche ties the other. Unless you're buying a Senna, your stock vehicle is gonna get whipped at the track sooner or later. So what? The sun will rise again.
I personally can fall in love with any almost any car that's well-engineered to a purpose. Even a Camry is interesting in its own way, purely as an appliance. While I wouldn't own a Mustang of any flavor, more power to the zillions of people who fork over their hard-earned money to buy them. Enjoy them while we can, fellas -- big V8-powered muscle cars will be gone soon enough, replaced by battery-powered acceleration devices from which you can also run your circular saw.
Next incredible Mustang is here: https://www.ford.com/cars/mustang/models/shelby-gt500. It's a pretty bad bitch. Will it spank a 911 on an airport runway, and in turned get its butt handed it to it by a Model 3 with some new over-the-air Uber Ludicrous Mode until its battery goes flat? The odds say perhaps.
As for me, I've mentioned before I'm on the cusp of ordering a 992 C4 or C2S, knowing full well the interior is a little cheap in places, and it's slower in a straight line than a number of cars that cost far less money. But I'm not buying Porsche #2 to get into a pissing match with people. I'm buying for the history, design, and engineering, and paying a fat premium for it. That's my choice. What other people drive is their business. Enjoy your amateur YouTube racing.
