992 S manual

In the MT you will spend no time on cleaning the crumb and dust collector around the floating PDK. As far as top speed or other stats I will never be able to challenge the 992’s engine. Just surprised there has been limited reviews on the manual 992 to date.

It is kind of strange that there are no reviews of the manual cars yet, maybe because the release is limited to Nth America they will do a limited press launch once the first cars arrive here.

I actually still can’t quite wrap my head around the manual being US-only. Feel very fortunate, but have a feeling the Europeans will get a nice 992T manual soon enough.

I just don't get the appeal of the post 997 non GT manual transmission cars...IMHO they are more a chore (or for the sake of) than anything pleasurable...the clutches are butter light with way less feel (honestly even the GT cars are light, but the feel is a touch nicer), and the actual manual gate is well...kind of "bleh". Granted, I can understand some nostalgia appeal but even then I'd probably go find a nice 997/993/964 for that and leave the 992 as PDK. Guess Porsche could have sharpened this one up, but I'm somehow doubting it....Im positive this will be an unpopular opinion but, I guess Im in the mindset of those Europeans haha.
But I have had 996.2 and 991.2 manuals, and I enjoyed the fact they were manual immensely... never wondering for a second if an automatic might improve the car.
My experiences with earlier 911sc sticks and 928 sticks was the gear change wasn’t that smooth/satisfying, had to really be precise, but perhaps they each needed a rebuild.
No experience w a pdk, might be awesome, but just didn’t speak to me.
I think it might be cool if there’s like 500 992 Carrera S sticks in the world, and everyone else, whether they like PDK or electric cars or whatever finds them completely unappealing... we’ll form a little club and enjoy ourselves.

We all know electric will blow away any carbon only burning car. However most people want the stick not for the naught to 60 but the experience to be closer and more involved with the engine of the car. Having previously had a new 991.2 PDK witch I sold with less than 1000 miles on it. I am not a fan of the automatic. All be it you can use the paddles but really not like throwing 2nd to 3rd with the stick. If I want to buy a auto transmission I would go for a Tacan S or a Macan turbo. These cans have plenty of power and more useful for a day driver. Porsche will be forced to eventually go electric or hybrid in the next 992.2 and up so we may be seeing the last 3 peddle cars now. Change is tough but necessary. #savethemanual

Thanks kindly for the reply. It looks shorter in the photo but perhaps just my wishful thinking. That would be an option I would tick!

it kind of looks a little lower to me, I’m not completely sure, but I don’t think that translates to the length or effort of throws, perhaps the console is a smidge higher?
