Obviously we need to figure out if our feet will fit on all of the dead pedal, not just half.

 

Less than the area of my phone ? I think its more....but even that wound still be hyperbola.
Anyway, although I still like the PDK and would have got anyway with choice at the time, the manual is a very valid alternative . Maybe its not such a big deal here , as we have all pretty much been driving manuals our whole (driving) lives as a norm. Slightly odd , they pulled the option from the UK configuration, but give the option in the land of automatic cars .

On a side note, I too.k my car over to a detailer and he buffed my scratches right out... mirror finis again.. I then had them PPF coated... best solution for now, until. Porsche makes a better material option which I will add later.

 

SIGNIFICANTLY (emphasis is on purpose) more manual Porsche (and other brand cars) are ordered in the US than in the EU (not sure about the UK)... google it, I was surprised to find out this fact.

Intersting, so it would actually be even harder to remove the scratches from those due to the lack of easy access for a mini orbital buffer... that said, I priced two new panels incase you get to the point where the scratches drive you nuts.. not bad at $145.00 for the pair.

 

I don't think it's a surprise at all. In general, Europeans have always been more purist and less sentimental. Back in the day when automatics were slush-boxes, manuals were clearly the better technology and no real European driver would be caught driving anything else. Back then, pretty much every European car was available with a MT. I remember MT 7 Series into the 90s. Now that automatics are clearly the better technology, European drivers have flocked to them. But over those same years in the US and Canada, you had to really love MTs to continue to drive them, to the point that we're at today where there are only a handful of cars that even offer a MT. So here, MTs really developed an almost cult following (to which, I'm a proud member) and that cult continues regardless of the development of better tech.

 

Was it ever there? Any real info on if and when a manual is coming in RHD?

 

I just don't get the appeal of the post 997 non GT manual transmission cars...IMHO they are more a chore (or for the sake of) than anything pleasurable...the clutches are butter light with way less feel (honestly even the GT cars are light, but the feel is a touch nicer), and the actual manual gate is well...kind of "bleh". Granted, I can understand some nostalgia appeal but even then I'd probably go find a nice 997/993/964 for that and leave the 992 as PDK. Guess Porsche could have sharpened this one up, but I'm somehow doubting it....Im positive this will be an unpopular opinion but, I guess Im in the mindset of those Europeans haha.
