Folks - Search didn't yield what I'm after nor did trying Google. Other than the HP/torque difference and wheels, what else do you get by selecting a 992 C2S over a C2? Thanks. Tim

I would have got the base, but MT is a must for me. Also the S is a little better on resale.

Resale on the S tends to be better and can make up some of the difference in price.

I believe that the S also comes with PTV standard.

As others have pointed out above, it’s not just horsepower. The price premium of the S is more than justified.

Are there any significant mechanical differences in the engine or is the increase in HP all from tuning?

So, it's not just a matter of a tune as some SA's appear to be peddling.
There are differing accounts as to whether the long block is the same.

There's nothing you get with the S that makes a significant difference in real world driving. If you spec RWS and/or SPASM, sure, but personally I dislike those two options.
Options aside, you're getting a slightly faster car (the S) vs a slightly better sounding car (base). One of the benefits of less torque/HP is you get a little extra time at higher RPMs in real world driving.
The base is already an overbuilt car. Porsche makes a much better margin on S models, which is why they push them so hard.

Having driven both (and GT variants) from the previous gen, I can say pretty confidently that the delta between the C2 and C2S is pretty negligible. People on this forum will rattle off features that are either built-in or available to the S variant, but honestly unless you either already know what those are / benefits of them, I would opt for the C2.
At the end of the day, it's a 911 either way. The current gen has an incredible amount of engineering and technology regardless of what you end up with.

The differences between the S and the base are pretty plain and you’ll have a pretty easy time figuring it all out.
once they introduce the T, that’s where it gets fuzzy, you’ll wonder why an optioned up base could be so clearly more special than just about anything, and you’ll have to rely on rennlist to learn about “magic sprinkles” and what not for it to all make sense.
