I initially spec'd my car with the Sport Design fascia. Then, I decided to embrace the future and stick with the "standard" fascia, because it...
When you go with the Sport Design piece, you lose active aero, reduce your approach angle, and put more painted surfaces in harms way. By being more conventional, it also doesn't look as "fresh" as the standard 992 front-end, because it's so similar to the 991.2. So, you're making a lot of compromises with Sport Design that you don't have to make with the standard option. That doesn't mean it's awful, but it's helpful to know those sacrifices going into it.
- Implements active aero for both improved downforce and improved efficiency
- Permits better approach angles
- Widens the appearance of the car
- Doesn't put as many painted surfaces in harms way for rock chips

Personally, I think the standard fascia with the sport suspension front lip is the best look. The sport design fascia reminds me too much of the 991.2 Turbo.
That said, I did order the sport design side skirts with my standard front fascia.

To me the car looks like a VW Beetle from the front with the standard front fascia. I was horrified when they unveiled it last year. The sport design looks much better, and it eliminates the sea of cheap plastic on the front of a $130,000 car.
Like when the 991 was unveiled, I planned to order a 992 when it launched but I just truly didn't like the car. They fixed the front and rear exterior with the sport design, the bacon strips and robocop light with the clear taillights, the nubbin with the manual. Now my only issue is the cheap piano black, easily-scratched plastic console trim. If they can offer a leather or carbon fiber option that would be ideal. Then I will only have to complain about not being able to see the outer gauges.

You don't have to torture yourself like this. There are other cars you can buy.
