I will also add that I have witnessed women who talk crap about nice things but when given the opportunity to participate with said things jump at the chance.
And guess what? Some of us (I would speculate many of us) spent our earlier years working on cheaper cars and fixing them up. Built not bought is a slogan that people love to throw around narrow mindedly. I personally am too busy taking care of my family and my profession to spend all my time in the garage anymore and even if I could my back would not tolerate it. So judge away ye with little life experience and even less success. The guy in the 911 is more worried about his family and furthering his career than having the newest caster/camber plates on his civic.
I just wanted to add that a couple of years ago, I saw a white Huracan with a black roof parked right in front of the entrancd of a Panera Bread, and saw a group of about 8 high school boys walk past it without even stopping for a second to check it out or comment on it. It was highly unusual to me, especially considering the fact that the city this happened in had very very few of these in town.

My white 981 cayman, however, definitely consistently draws attention in parking lots, and I would presume even more than a 911. Cars with interesting curves as opposed to straight lines usually look better up close. I also think that when a cars value clearly exceeds the $200,000 mark, it just makes you look like a tryhard.

Porsches get no attention. Hot chicks look at a man’s shoes, not his car unless they are a gold diggin bimbo great for an hour, and fully disposable thereafter.

Generally, only little boys are excitedable by lower level, entry level Porsches like a Cayman which seems to fit your/OP’s situation to a T. Clearly, you/OP needs to be placed on a watch list.

Wrong. My black 981 got zero looks, my 991.2T in guards red is a head turner. My friend’s Miami Blue 718 gets the most attention. Colour and badge are all that matter.

Wrong again. That’s just “Fox and Grapes” thinking.

I bought my 911s for performance that's it....there always a car more expensive for status seekers who drive their cars on Saturday to the car show...

Attractive women can be dated with a Camry if the guy can carry on a conversation....

Your post reminded me of a story from the mid-80s when a girl I knew in high school was impressed by a boy at school driving a Porsche. It was either orange or yellow, but it was a 914. She couldn't have cared less because it was a flashy color with a premium badge.

My nephew was hanging out with a dumb teenage girl years back. She saw my brand new 911 and was like, "Cool, but I want a 1997." She clearly had heard someone talking about Porsches and thought a 997 was actually 1997 and that it was the cool car to get. The funny thing is, my new 911 at the time was a brand new 997. I tried to explain this to her but I quickly gave up.

Wow, all sorts of discrimination displayed here by so many, disappointing.

I would say more but I've self-censored as I doubt what I wrote and deleted would change anyone's mind.

It's not the 80's where 'greed was good', that's for sure. "Build not bought" is sour grapes and/or gatekeeping behavoir.

When I was a kid I fell in love with the 911. I've wanted one ever since. I'm getting one for ME not anybody else. Cars don't attract women, unless you want to go dumpster diving.

The Z/28 gets equal attention compared to the TTS for different reasons-the Camaro because it looks badass, the 911 usually because of the chalk color. People just like looking at cool cars. However the Z/28 admirers are all male, the 911 half and half. Most have no idea about what the cars are however.

Interesting topic but what's it doing in the 992 sub-forum? Maybe it should reside in General Discussion.
