Default Driving the 992 on COTA today...

Porsche Austin put on a thing this morning down here at Circuit of the Americas. Really great time...

The car is seriously beautiful, and as has been said, MUCH better in person. There is a LOT going on inside these things and they are great GT cars for sure. They even sound great with the PSE. I was a bit surprised by that. Seriously, seriously fast street cars and very comfortable, even with the bumpy COTA track. Not as big as I thought it would be either. Handled great

Everyone seemed to have a great time and most folks I spoke to really were happy with the latest iteration.

Paddock parking lot was full of some great metal.

Just when I was telling myself I wouldn't, I even ran into another T. First time both of us have seen another in the wild. Awesome meeting you, E! Drive that daily safe and look forward to running into you around Hill Country.

Really fun day and awesome intro to the 992s. Thanks P Austin!

I am definitely in 991.1 camp... but the 992 seriously looks way better and way more modern in person. It finally has the interior to match the cost and the updates give it real super car aesthetics IMO.

I wish they would have upgraded the chassis and drivetrain beyond a 991.3/991.2v2 - not that it's not seriously fast and planted but its basically a 991.2 with a slightly wider front track with a slightly improved transmission beyond the aesthetics and interior.

Nice Ode to Texas on that 992. Although if I bought that car, I would have it removed!

Great looking T with the perfect options, no need to change.

As you and others have said the 992 looks much better in person than pictures.
What's odd about that statement is the other 911 generations look pretty damn good in photos!
It's always takes me awhile to come around to the new generation 911. For the 992 I'm going to give it 4-5 years, and 50% depreciation before I consider the switch.

Another way of saying don't mess with a good thing.
It's an expensive car, but if I were getting one I'd feel like I'd the price was worth it. I really thought it was going to feel bigger, but they worked the magic. It more than holds it's own, inside and out, with other cars in the segment now. P Austin was smart. This event worked on me and pretty much everyone else I spoke to. Awesome cars.

Just a wrap. It was a white car under all that goodness.

Was there a well, and got a go in the Carrera S. I have a 991.2 C2S and wanted to do as direct a comparison as I could. It handles pretty much the same but damn it's quick in straight line. It easily did 10 mph over my car on the back straight!

Will be keeping mine as well. Not enough of a jump in areas that concern me.

Was there as well. My wife and I had a great time. The midnight blue 992 C2S sounded great, was more stable and faster than my 991.1 C2S. A first class job by Porsche Austin. Greatly appreciated.

The only recommendation is that they should group drivers based on track driving experience. There were some groups that literally stopped on the track for folks to catch up and put some distance between run groups. I felt bad for those who wanted to go fast and those who felt uncomfortable cornering at 1+g. Nevertheless, 992 is a great Porsche as usual.
