Default dimmable rear-view mirror or not

Has anyone pictures of the difference between standard rear-view mirror and dimmable rear-view mirror?

A dealer told med that the standard look strange and that I should get dimmable.

The auto dimming mirrors are awesome. If you're cost-cutting in your spec and intend to drive the car at night, don't cut there.

This should just be standard on every Porsche. It's really a safety feature and you shouldn't have to pay extra for it.

Based on what I see listed as standard equipment I would ask the dealer to show you where in the configurator this could be added.

Its good if you often drive at night. But for a sunny day blast machine, who cares?

I have it on my DD so I know it is practical but I dont ned it for my 992. But the dealer said that the mirror without it looked strange. That is the worry.

Tuck it in the configurator and take a look. You can go pretty close with the ar app

It’s going to look strange, because most cars are spec’d with it, making your car look different.

This is auto-dimming:

See little button with green led on bottom of mirror... that switches auto dimming on and off.

i don’t know but I’d be prepared to bet a pint that the standard mirror is near identical but has a classic flip switch for a prismatic mirror where the little button is. I suspect your SA may be pulling your leg.

Yes I ended up ordering from another dealer because I did not think he was any good.
