Default Adding PCCB after lock

Has anyone had any luck in the past adding options to their build after it has been locked?

The reason I ask, I called on it to get an estimate to install after mine arrives, and I was told by my SA & the service department that getting PCCB's installed through the dealer is normally between $25-$30k. The reason being that the parts are much more expensive after the car is built vs. when the car is being assembled @ the factory. Had I known this (being a noob), I probably would have opted for PCCB's with my original build.

I wanted to add PCCB's after I get the life out of the stock brakes down the road. Now I'm regretting not going all in on them to start.

Ask your dealer to contact PCNA to request the change. Some changes can be made after a build locks. Smart call on the PCCBs btw.

I’ll get in touch with him tomorrow. Thank you.

I originally wanted to add PCCB’s when I tune after warranty. Now I fear I’ve missed the boat! Hopefully a $9k add-on will make it easier to go through the extra effort for them. I hate to be a pester

I was with you until the very end (in bold). Squeaky wheel gets the PCCBs.

There are way, way cheaper options than Porsche's PCCBs if you want to retrofit - just look up RacingBrake or Surface Transforms for solutions that will cost a little under 50% of that 25-30k (12k-ish).
Thought I'd mention that if you end up being out of luck

Appreciate the advice. I spoke with my SA and he is going to see about getting them added before production starts in a couple weeks. Hopefully I can avoid an upgrade now that I know how insane the cost is and grab them now while I can

Do keep in mind that 992 is so new that it'll take some time before aftermarket solution will be offered, generally it takes 12-16 months for aftermarket CCM's to be available, as an example, we've been working on 992's availability since earlier this year, and they are not expected to be available until at least end of Feb.

You won't be disappointed with the PCCB's. Have them on my TTS and love them. Side benefit, clean wheels most of the time.

Good to hear that you got it squared away before actual build started. Yes, wheels will stay a bit cleaner.

I would expect the caliper sizes to be identical to the 991.2? No? The PCCB, for instance, are the same diameters as the 991.2, the GT4, the Turbo S, GT3 RS, etc.
I think I read that the standard brakes are identical from 991.2 to 992 as well.

Maybe I'm just ignorant but, what would cause a delay for a 992 if they should be the same brakes to replace?

A cleaner wheel is a plus. I was also told they can last over 200k miles. I’d say if that is true they’d pay for themselves.

Thanks guys. I’ll keep you updated when my SA gets back to me

As I said in the other thread... you're VERY lucky not to be locked yet.. get that done and never look back... break dust free, maintenance free (for me never going to the track, they should last a lifetime)..

Well technically, the build locked over a month ago. My SA did say certain circumstances will allow add on's after a lock.. probably not stuff like power folding mirrors, or under door puddle lamps for example lol

If you are not able to get them added now you can look for a take-off set, which is what I did, or buy new from Germany for about $15k if you want OEM, which is still a lot more than if the car was ordered with them but half the cost of having a dealer do it here.

Thanks for the advice. I may end up doing that, but hopefully it doesn't come down to it.

Still waiting on my SA to get back to me. I have no clue how long this will take lol
