As in years past, the 992 GT3 will most likely be unveiled in Geneva in March 2020, with production going forward soon after that and first deliveries hitting Europe/ROW sometime in the summer of 2020, as a MY2021 car.
The US will probably see its first deliveries of a 992 GT3 sometime in the Fall of 2020.
Basically the same cycle as the 991 GT3.
Lather, rinse, repeat.
992 Turbo is revealed in Geneva...bet you'll see 992 GT3 in LA later next year or maybe Frankfurt Sept 2020.
I have no experience ordering a GT3, but I agree deposits mean nothing. I have 3 GT3 deposits, 1 for a GT4, and 2 for a Taycan from 3 dealerships. Now that I've ordered my 992, I have started requesting to pull all the deposits. Two dealerships who were quite responsive when I was inquiring about getting a 992 didn't reply to my refund requests until after a couple of weeks and 3 follow ups. LOL
Even for repeat customers, the GT3 buying process can be quite the to-do. I got my name on the waiting list for a 991.2 GT3 in 2017. I was #16 on the list at Porsche DTLA. I secured an allocation with a confirmed build number about a year later, in mid-2018. I was denied PTS repeatedly but I kept knocking on the door and ultimately I was rewarded with a PTS spot in the fall of 2018. My PTS GT3T was built in late December 2018/early January 2019 and arrived at Porsche DTLA in late March 2019. To say it was a labor of love would be putting in mildly. Was it worth it? Fudge yeah!
My car was featured on Porsche's IG account on Black Friday. Neither my car nor my IG account were given any props. They pirated the photo and gave no accolades to the photographer (who is from Germany, actually) or to the car owner. Whatever. The car is mine and that is all that matters. And what a car it is. A masterpiece of German engineering. That is all.

Porsche DTLA is the best...Elvis takes care of me and I plan to always get my cars there even though I live in Sac. Also, Porsche used a photo that I took before but asked for my permission, I am surprised they just lifted it. Beautiful car.

what color is that? Been looking for a good creamy white. would look killer on 992 with truffle inside.
My Touring is light ivory - more pics on IG: @lightivory2019gt3touring - I chose it, in part, as homage to the original 911R which was offered in light ivory. I also liked that it kept with the more understated ethos of the Touring. And I wanted something different, something that might make you look twice but not because it is loud but because it is unique. I couldn't be happier!
I hope OP do get this first Porsche GT car. As a devils advocate and not to rain on someone's parade, how can a dealer have a list when they do not have a firm number of allocation? Although it is a good basis for allocation projection, previous years sales performance is not a guarantee for same number of allocation be be had.
Then on top of the "games" the dealer will play, ADM will come as a surprise when the allocation becomes imminent.
Drive safe,

The sad truth is you'll never know where you or anyone is on the "list" nor how big the "list" is. You'll never know how many allocations the dealer **really** got. Unless you're sitting at the dealer every day watching every GT3 roll in off the truck from the factory, you'll never know how many cars actually were delivered. It's all a shell game. There are guys (many on here) who have very tight relationships with dealers that practically guarantee them cars or allocations - which they often flip for big $$. Flipping GT cars becomes a profitable business for some of them. So not to burst your bubble, but you, as a newbie Porsche guy, walking in to a dealer off the street, giving them a $1k or $2k deposit, is going to have a tough time competing with those guys if the 992 GT3 becomes as desirable as the 991's were.
Not in any way trying to burst your bubble, just trying to educate you so you're armed with info and not disappointed when they tell you they didn't have an allocation for you. Search these forums for tales of similar outcomes of guys who were "4" or "3" or "8" on a list, and never got a car.
