Sport-Tex seat center pics

I really like this interior, but was hoping to lighten up the interior on my next car. Hopefully they'll add more options for the surrounding leather. It would be nice to see a chalk or light gray leather around the Sport Tex seat center.

Same, I spec'ed slate grey/chalk with either gentian or night bue (still undecided). I would change in second for a two tone sport tex interior.

The sport-tex seats are a huge improvement from the the 991.2. The chequered pattern is fantastic and seat heating now comes as standard. These will be my default options from now on. Very easy to clean (previous ones were prone to staining) and will wear fas less than leather.

@darkknight26 you seem to have a pretty good feel for your sport-tex. The more I've looked into it, the more interested I am in adding it for my next 911.
How would you describe the material of Sport-tex? Is it truly cloth? Or is it more grippy like a rubber material?
Will the chalk colour within the checkered pattern discolor?? I'd also be worried of de-threading. Like other "cloth" seats, you'll see fibers unweave and create a hairy situation (pun intended)
I'm really interested in getting something other than leather, I'm growing tired of the slippery feel of leather on the b-roads... I also don't like ventilated seats, as I see it as one more thing to break. However, ventilation is absolutely necessary with leather to help breath.

More grippy than leather but does not feel rubbery at all. Not noticed any discolouration in my 991.2 (18k miles) or after 3k on the 992. Definitely not unweaving whatsoever and after the leather starts to look tired, sportex remains fresh. Suggest you check it out at your dealer. Will try to do some close up shots this week.

I've had the car for 800 miles and I cannot see the material fraying or unwinding. It also maintains it's shape, so I don't expect as much issue with sagging and definitely no creasing.
The material is grippy, but not rubbery at all. It doesn't make your back sweat and it doesn't get hot to the touch. It's a high performance material and a cool look. Seems like most people who've ordered it are very happy with it.

Those are great! Thank you ^^
So the chalk color of the checkered pattern... you guys don't think over time those will develop dye transfer discoloration?
The material itself definitely doesn't look like "cloth" in those zoomed photos of it. You can see the grippy details in those shots. No doubt it looks amazing.
I think I'll have a look in person next time at the dealer. I really think if can outwear leather, and provides grip, it's a winner.
Only thing that gives me cause to pause, is every generation, Porsche has a "new" upgraded Sport-tex material. Which outdates the last. I'm wondering if it's a material I could live with long term.
Appreciate the feedback gentleman.

Leather is the classic choice .That's true. But good looking fabric will always look good -- the old houndstooth, tartan and pascha fabric still look cool after all these years.

No problem. I really don't foresee the silver/gray fabric discoloring or fading. I would expect equivalent wear in a leather seat to look much worse.

My dealer didn't have any 911's on site with the checkered Sport-Tex. Though they rest assured it felt identical to the offering in the Taycan they had on site.
It didn't look the same, but it felt awesome. Can anyone else confirm they are made of the same material?

The Taycan has Race Tex, which is an Alcantara clone. Sport Tex is not similar to Alcantara. So no, the idea is the same but different materials.
Unless I'm missing a Sport Tex offering on a Taycan somewhere.

lol I know what Alcantara/Race-tex is. The Taycan has a "sport-tex" version on the seats that feels like a cloth with a grippy design pattern.. it just doesn't look checkered.
