Default Tinting your 992?

Has anyone tinted or plan to tint their 992? I’m on the fence about doing it. I’ve tinted most of my cars in the past, but nothing like a 911. I’ve had feedback from friends that believe it shouldn’t be tinted, and it will lose the classic sports car look!

I’ve always tinted for aesthetics more so than the performance of tint such as UV & heat protection.

Pics are a plus! Any input would be great!

At the end of the day, the 911 is just a car. If you want tint, just do it, but don't go with the cheap stuff. Spend dollars and do it right.

I was looking at doing 35% all the way around. And going through Carzwerk in Fremont when they do my new car prep + ceramic.

Just not 100% sure I want to do the tint 😳

I had my "Level 3" paint correction and ceramic (CQuartzFinest) done last week -- including wheels and calipers. The car looks amazeballs. (see below)
35% is pretty safe. It won't cheapen the look of the car.

Absolutely fabulous!

I have this same treatment planned

Do you plan to tint?

I have done 3M ColorStable on cars in the past, but I am waiting until summer to see if I want to do anything to the 911.

Pics like yours have me second guessing the tint. I originally was thinking it would help give the engine cover a streamlined look with a tint. Kind of blend it in.

It's not going to change anything regarding the look. And it's tint. If you don't like it, or someone doesn't like it who is buying it, it peels off fairly quickly.

Just buy good tint like XPel XR Pro or similar. Don't cheap out. If you want good heat rejection but not too dark, go with 50%, will be barely visible.

Default Tint is a great idea

I used Xpel. Max tint darkness everywhere except the windshield. Windshield is clear tint to blockout uv.

Check out this link to see a full folder of photos of an Aventurine Green Porsche 992 we recently worked on. We applied 35% heat-rejecting window tint on all side and rear windows of the car, along with paint correction, paint protection film, and coating application.

We are glad to hear that you are taking your new 992 to Carzwerk! Jason and his team do great work!
