Anchorage, Alaska, C4S. This was a month ago, snow is leaving quickly. Note: After I took this picture, I drove back home and parked the car. Treacherous on snow and ice with stock tires. Blizzaks next winter for sure.
That makes all of us, I think. All 3 of the 4S coupe owners in Anchorage have posted here now. And I think we all bought our cars the same week. There's one other 4S here in town also, a black 4S cabriolet. I've seen it driving around, but the owner hasn't posted here yet. I'm glad I had a week or so of nice cold weather to drive my car around before it got messy outside. Also, I don't think you can get Blizzaks in the proper sizes for our cars, but the Michelin Pilot Alpin PA5 is a great tire. And don't let them tell you at the dealership that the 295 width recommended winter rear tires won't fit the stock wheels. They fit just fine.
After four months of waiting, two months at port and a few weeks at Moe’s (Glistening Perfection) the car is finally in my hands.
Excited to put it through its paces. My wife and I are hiding out in Palm Springs for the rest of the week, eventually finding our way to Big Sur via the 1 and then home in SF.

I knew that backdrop looked familiar... congrats, looks great!
As I'm sure you know, there were 3 on the floor this winter and I looked at all of them. I didn't want the white one because it had a solid steel sunroof and I want glass, too dark here in the winter and I like light. That narrowed it down to the silver and the chalk or order one and wait. I was pretty sure I was going to order one in camine red ... until I was in LA and I saw a carmine red Macan. Way too red, like stop sign red. I almost bought the chalk one but decided to go with the traditional silver. I'm certainly glad I did but I would have been happy with the chalk, too. What a marvelous car! I had a BMW 650 ix prior and it was a fine machine but this C4S is just on a different level. I've driven other 911s at the Porsche Driving School, been there twice, but the 992 is big step up from that and driving on the street requires a different set of skills. Drove to Portage on Sunday, what a day. Just a fantastic machine.
I also have a Macan S, had to take that to the shop today. Picked up a rock in the brake, horrible racket. They put it on the lift, took about 2 seconds to get it out, lodged between the rotor and the shroud.
Now that spring is here, looking forward to some longer drives. Need to get away from the news and the noise.
One more from late February when I bought the car:
What a lovely car!!! And what a lovely message... you know, I feel the same... I am not a young guy any more, and my twelfth 911 (first one in 1973, a 2.2L T), a Carrara White 2S , is now in my garage, and giving me so much pleasure on the roads of France..
So enjoy your black Beauty my unknown 'U.S. of A.' Porsche friend !! Jean-Louis.
12 911s! Fantastic, good on you talk about a long term advocate! Once you're onto a good thing I guess!
Here is a quick pic of mine before delivery. Sorry should have added more details. Its a S Cab with the standard exhaust. Still actively looking for a way to keep the quads and get the "sport exhaust tone"
