Glad it’s finally happening! I remember you had another color specs out before you settled on GT silver. Post some pictures and impressions once you get it. It’s great to see members enjoying the cars. 2 more weeks for me!

No better drive than the drive home in a brand new car... enjoy it. Mine is supposed to be ready this week too, but I've been told "next week" four weeks in a row, so...

Beautiful car. For me, i configured my start up screen to include the Stop/Start widget, and the Time and Temperature. Upon start up, the first thing I do is turn off the Stop/Start. No need to find it in the menus if programmed like this. Also, I configured the furthest left "dial" to be a full time Compass. As this, along with the furthest right dial is partially blocked by the steering wheel. The compass is slightly blocked but still usable. Have fun configuring all the rest.

Can you configure such that it stays off? On the 991, you can turn it off such that you don't need to turn it off each time you start the car.

It doesn't stay off, unfortunately.

What a car. Retro, but still contemporary?

Sitting behind the wheel, I feel like I’m in a 993 with the upright center gauge cluster, the old school metal tach in the center. But then sweeping off to either side, you see the future. Gauges that look painted on their mount. Further to the right a large center screen similar to my Panamera, but smaller font, more modern, more 911.

The build quality is impeccable. Everything tactile, purposeful, over-engineered.

There’s still a lot of road noise on the interstate - it is definitely not a Panamera. (I’m glad I chose to keep mine as my daily driver). But if you’re coming from a Cayman, or a 991, the 992 may seem somewhat quieter.

The Sport Exhaust is scary good. The sound!

The crested headrests are beautiful.

The nubbin is cool with an industrial, Teutonic vibe.

The piano black trim in my 992 isn’t as shiny or plasticky as some pictures I've seen. A total non-issue.

Most underrated option that I am so glad I added late to my build - aluminum interior. Really nice, subtle, muted.

Issues - it’s true, you can’t see either the right most gauge, or the left most gauge, no matter your height, seat bottom, or seat back position. But one little lean to your right or left solves that.

And I have a nasty, obvious speaker rattle on my front passenger door grille when playing heavy bass that I don’t have elsewhere. In fact, turn off the stereo or lower the bass, and the cabin is bank vault quiet, with nary a squeak or rattle.
