Thats because your pressures are too high.

Any specific pressures you'd recommend, or just use the targets in the PCM for comfort?

Thanks

So for anyone looking for visual comparison between SPASM and PASM, I was able to find 2 images at similar angles and create this comparison photo, hope this helps. Unfortunately I just found out from my SA that my order has already locked and I'm unable to change my PASM to SPASM. So I'm "stuck" with PASM for my C2S. Unfortunately no demo car was available when I placed my order and I was afraid of scraping with SPASM. I'm sure I'll be happy with the driving/handling of regular PASM, but I did like the lowered stance of SPASM.

Thank you. Not much difference at all really. Most people won't be able to tell unless they are right next to each other as they are here. I've also heard unless you are tracking on a regular basis, you will likely not push the PASM suspension to its limits anyway. Most people don't drive like that on the highway.

So quick update, I finally got to test drive a demo today at my dealership that had SPASM equipped. Unfortunately no PASM equipped cars available for demo. Here are my thoughts (my current C2S build has regular PASM only).

1.) Appearance - Yes, SPASM looks great. But there was a customer car parked in the parking lot with regular PASM. For some reason, the pictures seem to exaggerate the extent of the wheel gap. In real life, it is not as noticeable. I'd say 99% of people would not even notice unless the cars were side by side. Using my slender Asian fingers - SPASM had 3 finger gap, PASM had 4 finger gap, my RS3 has 3.5 finger gap.

2.) Driving - SPASM seems perfect. Not too stiff and car felt planted. Even on sports+ mode, car did not feel too stiff. Subjectively, it is slightly less stiff than my RS3 on dynamic mode. Unfortunately, there was no PASM for me to compare to directly. But I would assume sports+ on PASM should be slightly stiffer than SPASM on normal. So I don't think I will be disappointed with regular PASM, but will likely drive with dampers on sports+ setting. For daily driving, I think SPASM on normal is perfect, but even in sports+ was not considered uncomfortable.

3.) Ground clearance. I did not have a measuring tape, but using my cell phone as a reference, even regular PASM is about 1cm lower than my RS3 for front lip clearance and I've already managed to scrape my RS3 front lip on a few driveways.

Turns out my official lock date has not passed but my SA warned that any further changes could severely impact my delivery date (it was already pushed back from December to Jan/Feb). I decided to keep PASM, as my 2 major concerns with PASM were appearance and front lip clearance, and I did not want to delay my delivery date any further. I do not think I will be disappointed with PASM, but if I could spec again from purely a driving experience, I think I would definitely spec SPASM. Hope this helps anyone on the fence!

Helpful, thanks! When is your lock date? Mine is October 14 for a Nov allocation / Jan delivery. My SA claims that I can change my build right up to the lock date without worrying about a delay.

So finally picked up my car today - first time ever driving 992 with regular PASM. No regrets. Unless side-by-side next to a car with SPASM, I really don't notice the wheel gap. Driving-wise, the regular PASM is already quite stiff on regular mode (didn't try sport mode) and already very planted. Really don't see how some people compare the regular PASM to a Lexus (have you guys driven a Lexus before? My parents had an ES300.) Already handles better than any car I've owned (RSX with Mugen SS, BRZ, Golf R and RS3). I'm sure the SPASM would pay huge dividends on the track, but for regular daily driving and spirited weekend drives, I'm happy with regular PASM and don't have to worry as much going over speed bumps, driveways etc. with my wife and baby as passengers.

Same here, PASM is fine for me, SPASM is quite harsh, plus I’d scrape the front lip all the time.

I had a SPASM loan car, it didn’t like anywhere I took it, bad roads and speed humps.

After a year the suspension has settled down a lot and as long as you dodge the pot holes they ride perfectly well.

Car looks awesome by the way!

If anyone wants to get rid of that unsightly wheel gap I have a set of Techart height adjustable springs set for sale at a great price, PM me.

I can tell you with the regular suspension the carrera looks like a lifted 4x4 w/o some form of modest lowering respectfully imho. 😀
