992S $140k??? Yikes! PAG is making big mistake.

Yep. This kind of pricing strategy always works great, right up until it doesn't.

Yeah to be fair. If I played with the configurator my 991.2 C4S build would have cost about 145k and my 992 ideal build is about $150k.... so if you are the type that likes to add leather and options the price difference is really not that drastic.
NOT to say the prices aren't crazy. P-cars have just always been an expensive game to play.

If PAG thinks this thing will sell at those numbers which are an upsetting harbinger for GT pricing all I can say is “hello C8 Z06”

Hasnt this always been the case when the next generation of 911 is released? Look @ 991 prices in 2013 compared to 997 GT stuff etc
My 992 C4 won't cost me much more than my 991.2 C4 FWIW, optioned just about the same
Let me know how the Z06 goes because I will continue to own 911s and I'll likely never buy a Corvette

A BIG FWIW:
Bought new 997.2 in 2010 = paid $110k ($131.5k with 2019 inflation)
Ordered new 992 = $137k (added more options than 997)
Asked my Dad on some previous Carreras he bought new:
Bought new 993 C2 in 1997 = paid $82k ($131k with 2019 inflation)
Bought new 911 Turbo Look Carrera in 1987 = paid $58k ($131k with 2019 inflation)

The 992 is actually underpriced.

In late 2018 I spec’d out a 991.2 GTS with PDK, RAS, PDLS, and a few other options for about $137K.
Once the 992 was announced I was able to spec out a 992 C2S with the same options, and a few more for $136,540.
The way I see it, I’m getting a car with more or less the same performance as the old GTS, but with the latest design, and a more modern cockpit that I prefer, for less money.
