2mm; others here indicated 2, so I just followed. 2 is slightly firmer/tighter -- which I think I'd prefer.

Let us know,...IMHO its a cheap yet effective upgrade.

They work, can personally attest to them. Not 100% elimination, but makes the ride more enjoyable - especially around town at lower speeds.

While we are on the topic of the exterior triangle wind deflectors, wanted to pop-in a picture of DB Carbon's that I installed shortly after I brought my car home.

Just as a bit of info. Talking to my custom shop owner about the foils, he has a nicely modified 991.2 (turbos, intercoolers, plenum, exhaust, tune, suspension etc) and chose not to install the wind foils simply because he is not sure what it does to the airflow around the cabin and back to the intakes. He says he does not know if it makes any significant impact but is just cautious and pointed out Porsche has a reason for everything. This might be the reason why Porsche themselves never did it (its pennies)? ..very effective for wind but maybe less optimal for air flow for cooling. (Note: I installed mine and did not think twice about it...but I also don't push the car to its limits).

Perhaps on the turbos but for the rest, I can't see those affecting air intake and cooling on other models.

As to Porsche having a reason for not doing it... yes, I'd really really like to talk to them about a whole lot of idiotic things they did and didn't "do".

Definitely works, thanks @mdrobc1213 . Not a total blocking of the noise but a definite difference to the point where TOWMBO asked me to install one on her 2020 Macan S. Alas they don't make any for that vehicle. I hope it doesn't become such a big deal that she'll want to now drive the NLRC rather than her car...

Works!

Here is the reply from John at AWE

Since the diffusers are positioned between the mirror and window, it will really not affect any airflow to the intercooler ducts.

Think of fit this way, the window being opened would have a more dramatic air flow disruption than anything else and that has little effect on the flow to the ducts.

Yeah, intuitively I would say makes sense...but then I would expect that answer from the maker of the foils too. Regardless, not a concern of mine but thought it was an interesting perspective I did not hear before. (PS: the open window argument is good but nobody drives with open windows at high speed/racing when cooling is most important. Porsche made sure of that as the buffeting is prohibitive ;-))

With all due respect, I think this is FUD and a non issue. But I'm sure we'll get 500 replies on expert wind tunnel reports etc.

Nah just bracing myself for "my uncle worked in aerospace at a wind tunnel ..." not forgetting "I remember seeing in..."

No offense meant

These sit between the mirror and window, the caps are neither affected nor removed
