992 c4s is about as fast as a 991.2 gts
but trap speed is less than 124 mph as it takes 11.33 to hit 1/4 mile but 11.86 to hit 124 mph. So trap is prob 120 or less

I think Autobild had the .2 GTS at 11.5s ->200kmh (124mph) and CnD had the 1/4 in 11.3s @ 125mph - either way it was/is a quick car.
Not sure what to make of this. Presumably the gps reading is less dependable because of the innate location inaccuracy of this technology?
Not really, the onboard system in my RS is 10Hz and its spot on . e.g. it takes 10 readings per second. basically the clock is generally accurate to ~ 1.5% at 70mph assuming OEM tires.
Most testers use systems in the range 10Hz to 100Hz. I suspect the clock is out.
Thank you! Im not sure what all these journalists are smoking saying the 992 is “sooo much faster”. S vs S its got a better 0-60 because of the new gear ratios and pulls a little harder. Still slower than the .2 gts for the most part. Why are they drinking so much koolaid? All the instrumented testing doesnt really match up with their behind the wheel impressions.
The track width is a nice improvement and will definitely make it feel more planted/more stable in fast corners etc Perhaps the journos were expecting more a la the big jump from 991.1 to 991.2 (which was a bit of an anomaly in the evolution of the 911).

Because the koolaid is Grand Cru grade, and it accompanies a very nice dinner in an exotic and romantic location reached via first-class travel courtesy of Porsche's public relations team. What incentive do they have to rock the boat?
