992 crazy satnav
Twice now my 992 has made classically crazy satnav decisions, taking me up undriveable country lanes instead of nice wide A roads.
The satnav is in ‘quick’ rather than ‘short’ mode, with route alteration for conditions switched off.
Both of the the routes were ones I’ve navigated many times with my 991.1 satnav.
I’ll get some screenshots up of it being stupid. There’s clearly a defect in either the planning algorithm or the route data.
Anybody else experienced this?

It really bothers me that NAV is standard in this car. I wish it were optional. You’d think that power seats, homelink, etc. would be standard in a luxury car way before NAV. It seems that NAV is standard as yet another nanny device so the shift points and exhaust note can be automatically controlled based on the car’s location.

In many countries you can’t rely on good network connections as needed by any of the online map services. Try using apple maps in the country areas of Australia, for instance. You’ll soon be glad Nav is standard.

That car companies - Porsche included - insist on implementing sub-par nav systems while google/apple dominate is beyond stupid. It’s truly a pathetic and futile attempt to generate revenue. I hope they stop this ridiculousness soon.

I’ve always found porsche’s built-in sat nav to be fine so disappointing if they’ve introduced bugs in the 992 version. Carplay better and i always plug my phone in these days but that’s not an excuse for the inbuilt unit to be poor.
It’s about time they all went the way of the AM vakyri and just make a proper phone app that does it all: music, sat nav, plus bespoke car functions like driving mode, air con etc. Surely would save them a load of cash developing a full hardware and software unit.
