lol, ive never driven on track but have dailied 991.2 cab4s w ras for 2 yrs and 2 yrs of 991.2 w no ras prior.
highways, local, city, you name it. difference noticeable: snap lane changes, lane changes, any turns, parallel parking, etc etc etc.
It really should be standard as it improves the car so much.

Note that there is per review Janko Lind and technical documents a significant difference between 991 and 992 steering, so asking for specific feedback on those who have driven 992 with and without RAS. I don’t care much about outright track times, but do care about daily driving pleasure. Thanks for all the feedbacks so far!

The decision has been straight forward for me. Can I live without a sunroof? Yep as I skipped it last time! RAS - ticked!

If you drive 911s for the last twenty years and you really know how to drive these cars you might not like RAS.
If its your first or Second Porsche Just tick the box. It Will safe your car and wallet due to Un Experience to turn a 911 with throle and not steering wheel.

Modern 991/992s handle like a boat without RAS due to the larger size of these cars. I'd never own a modern Porsche without RAS, though I'd also never want to add RAS to the smaller older 911s.

A couple fo weeks ago, I was on track with my 964 RS and was reminded how small and agile the car felt....and that a 991 with RAS goes closest to replicating that feeling of smallness and agility. A 991 without RAS just feels like a lard ****.

So decided to add RAS to my order, after checking with dealer the 4S I test drove there had RAS, and the experience left me impressed, so not taking any risk and adding it.

I fully understand why you might say this but I respectfully have a different view.

RAS won’t have a negative impact on driving dynamics. When you’re already spending over $100K, what’s an extra 1-3k. For those paying cash, an extra few K won’t make a difference. For those financing, it’s an extra 30 bucks a month or so at most. Very insignificant price wise in my opinion.

Owning a GT3 Touring and planning to get a 992 4S for the Autobahn and DD i will most likely NOT get the RAS. It gives the car an artifical touch imo and costs you the ability to instinctively connect with the chassis, especially the rear axle.

Is that really your experience with the touring? RAS gives you better turn in, high speed stability and yaw control as well as a faster rear axle response. Wouldn't want to miss that in a DD or Autobahn cruiser or on the track.
You are not just buying the RAS, the front axle gets different kinematics (as well as the more direct steering rack), see the technical workshop documents for more. It's as much as a gain dynamics wise as PDCC.

RAS is a must have option if you enjoy driving.
If you plan to use your car to commute in traffic, it doesn't matter. Also you should have bought a Tesla.

It is. Owning a 993 C2S and a 981 Spyder beside it and have therefore good comparisons available. Yes it makes the car go better around slow corners but that's not the point. It gives the rear axle a clear artificial touch.
So the plan is to split the Touring into a 992 C4S as DD and a 997.2 GT3 (RS) as the hardcore and natural machine the Touring failed to be.
