This is Porsche getting exactly what they deserved for that stupid Americanized cup holder that never should have been there in the first place.

It was so ridiculous that even the 911 fans at the NHTSA couldn’t believe Porsche ruined the center console like that and thus had to step in and put a stop to it!

I have stopped crying now, it works fine as a cup holder without the insert. Tried a few different cups.

I've said it before but the tiny gearshift nubbin next to the huge elevated cup-holder just didn't look too great in an otherwise wonderful looking interior (to my eyes). I think most people would have taken out the cup holder insert anyway to use the more flexible open cubbyhole for phones, wallets etc. Glad to see it can hold drinks reasonably well too...

I'd be shocked if the parking brake isn't moved away from the cup holder/cubby hole in the 992.2 iteration. Hard to believe that design element made it through R and D without getting flagged. Heads should drop over this one. I would not expect such an unforced design error by Porsche.

Especially seeing that there was absolutely no issue whatsoever with the 991’s parking brake switch location.

It was easy to reach, discreet and tucked out of the way and most importantly, not taking up any precious center console space for that big gulp!

I brought up the issue on the cupholder and parking brake right next to each other - literally on the launch of the 992. This is a huge fail.

Porsche should hire me to fix their problems
