Basic question. What is the standard/default roof headliner material? Any pictures of it close up?

No Alcantara on the configurator and I have only just noticed a Race Tex roof liner as an option for C4S. (At around $1,300) I still have a few days before my order freezes.

Also wondered if the Roof Tex makes any difference to interior noise.

 

I have alcantara roof lining and despite many people saying they dislike it, I love it. It stays in wonderful condition because nobody is touching it.. It also makes the cabin feel warm and cozy..

I prefer it over standard roofline. I'll post a pic when I get a chance

Non-touch surfaces, it will stay looking amazing!

Alcantara anywhere else is a non-starter for me.

 

Hope this helps. If you have had 911s before I think you would miss this in a 992.

Finally took some pics. My sun visors are not alcacantara

 

Alcantara would work for ME If I ever grow a stache, mullet with grease in it, some gold medallions around neck, a heavy musky scent and some Bow Chicka Wow Wow playing on the beat box.
My personal mental block with Alcantara. Opinions....are like...

I hated my 991.2 GTS alcantera interior. HATED IT! It got so nappy. But I actually love it on the roof and pillars where you don't typically touch it. My first 992 S didn't have it. My 2nd 992 S does. And I think it looks nicer with it. But that's it! I will never get Alcantera steering wheel or interior again.

 

I’m getting it on my roof along with leather visors. The SA went right at the gf with those things, I was cornered. Should never have brought her.

 

I concur on the pillars and ceiling. I had alcantara center inserts for the 991.2 Turbo, and they held up much better than leather. I definitely would not spec an alcantara wheel

 

I opted for Race-Tex roof lining and visors (since the visors are right up there against the roof it would have bugged me not to do them too). I didn’t do a sunroof and I like the material for the roof linings. I’ve had alcantara on previous car and thought it was a nice touch. If I would have done the sunroof, however, I might have skipped it to save the money, especially since most of the roof is taken up by the sunroof.

 

Can you guys please post more images of the racetex headliner and sun visors please? I'm going for this option on my 992 since I had Alcantara on my old ctt and really liked it on non touch surfaces. Tks!!!

 

I had alcantara roof on my blue interior 991.5, and it was very nice, but just have the standard headliner on my black interior 992 and haven’t missed it.

 

In for more photos of the roof liner and visors. I’m going to add this to my order.
