They are chrome on 4s and black on 2s. Thats is the only thing that separates them.

Good call on getting the Carrera badge painted black...on the other hand, to my eye, your car looked pretty good without the badge. I think I'm going naked.

I do like gloss black too but I find they are like interior gloss black trim and can get scratched and marked up too easily!
Beautiful car! Enjoy!

This has me rethinking again...under this light, the reflection on the satin is alluring

Now I do like the BLACK Porsche rear logo shown here .
However the other 911 Carrera S also in BLACK may also help .

I'm 50/50 on the black Porsche logo at this point...I wish they could delete the letters altogether with this option to keep it clean. I'm afraid that it looks like something is missing when the letters remain but they're only kind of visible. Views?

Definitely going with factory delete on the 911 Carrera S badge. I'm doing the SportDesign front and back...feeling there's not enough room between the light bar and the license plate on the SD to stick a dozen letters and numbers in there without it looking busy. A black badge looks good on the normal rear configuration, but just not convinced it will on the alternative rear.

Once the manual arrives, and I can order one, I'm going with the silver Porsche and badging that just says 911.

Have firmly decided to go all-in with the anonymous unbadged rear...have confirmed Black PORSCHE badge and no model name badge. As an aside, dealer told me they're confident they can remove the PORSCHE letters...he's convinced they are attached with adhesive only, and not part of the light bar. In any case, decision made.

I find the satin black wheels too dull and chalky (pun intended), but full gloss to be too shiny. I ordered my 2RS with satin wheels but had the dealership's bodyshop apply a couple layers of clear coat to give me something in between. Did the same on my 3RS last fall.

Outstanding idea...you hit on exactly my perceptions of the 2 options.
