My SA contacted me today to update me. For clarification, it is my dealership that has 53 cars - including mine - awaiting a transport vessel.

Default Delay…Ugh

Track Your Dream said that my 992 started production on 1/31, was set to be completed by 2/4 - and delivered on 3/18. I just checked it - and now it says that the car’s production won’t be completed until early March and delivered until 4/15. So frustrating… Has anyone else had this happen? Should I be worried about more delays?

At Dealership today. SM said boat due J'Ville on 2/25 and 3/5, hope everyone awaiting a lift to J'Ville gets on one of them. On another note, 22' GT3 was awaiting owner pickup after PPF, this owner spec'd Motorsport stripe, happy to say after seeing stripe in person, happy i spec'd it.

I've officially joined the waiting room as well... this is what my sales person in Sydney sent me in the email (I've removed my order & telephone number from the screen shot):

It's official ... I'm looking at a 2023 delivery date. My God. Even blue whales don't have a gestation period this long...

Wow, that looks very far out! With the rumors of a 992.2 for the 2023 model year, I wonder if that means your order would get "converted". Does anyone know?

I was told a couple months ago that if a 992 isn’t a Turbo, GT3, other upper end build, Porsche has little interest in producing it right now. They want the profit margins on the more expensive models.

Mine has changed twice since I’ve been watching it, just moved out another seven days.

My delivery day is now 4/8, but my SA at time of order said he expected May / June actual arrival. I really should just stop checking it and one day just get a call and be like, oh yeah I did order a 911.

I’ll have to call Porsche and let them know if it means getting my car sooner, they can convert mine to a GT3 touring, if that will help them out.

same here. I originally had a mid March delivery date and it’s been pushed back multiple times to late April. I wondering if it’s a specific part/option (ie PCCB’s) that causing the delays.

It happens a lot more than it doesn't. Mine went from September to December. It sucked, and the waiting seemed never-ending. But the date got here and so did the Targa. So will yours hopefully sooner than predicted.

It was my fault. I kept pushing out my allocation trying to get the AeroKit, so by the time I stopped trying, my dates got pushed back. It’s my fault that I do not have my car already. By the time my car arrives at the dealership the end of next month/first week of April, it will have been nearly a year since my original May allocation.

You won’t stop checking until your car is at the dealership. Don’t kid yourself.

Certain options are definitely the culprit.

My Targa GTS delivery was just pushed back 7 days.

The SA did say that if the facelift occurs, he'll let me know and see if I'm keen to swap that out for that version - it'll also mean I'll need to top up the difference, and God only knows if that will mean a different (later) delivery date.

It's a Porsche Dealer's market right now, and we are just willing pawns...
